I’m still trying to figure out why Clark didn’t get taken (as I reflect on the image of him laying on the table with a bullet hole in his forehead- and coming up negative during the testing).
    And then I ask myself:
    - was Clark just being befriended by The Thing, as a trusted agent to possibly take it to other future hosts when they got the opportunity to get away from the camp?

-Did the creature consider Clark’s kindness “to the dog”, to be genuine, fascinating- something it never felt before?

Unfortunately AND fortunately I don’t. I would never want that to happen to me. Just the thought of it terrifies me. And from most of the abductions I’ve read about, there were often repeated offenses of it, and over many years. No thanks.

When I was two I disappeared for quite some time. No one could find me.

The next morning after calling the cops and searching the area to no avail, I was told they found me crying in a space behind a water heater that was trapping me. Everyone said that there was no obvious way I could have gotten back there on my own.

I thought nothing of this tale my family tells every time they see me... until....

One day in my 30s I went to the dentist and he had this newfangled xray machine take a scan of my entire jaw, and around the head. It's common these days... but that was ages ago.

He found a piece of metal in my jaw, inside the bone. I can feel the bump. I haven't had it removed as it would be major surgery... which I don't need.

He said at the time (this WAS Nevada) that I must have been abducted as he had seen it before...

Fortunately I haven't been bothered by the UFO's since.

Hey Zen, do you have copies of the X-ray? That would be intriguing to see. Have you considered going to interested parties with this story? Any other abductions happen in the same area, that you know of?

No I do not have the xray... Next time I get to the dentist and if they do a scan I will ask for a copy. All dentists I have seen since then have noticed it and asked about it.

As far as that area goes, it was probably 1955 in Princeton, Massachusetts. Don't know about others there... I have never really researched it much.

I have met a few other people along the way that have told stories, some with not so nice endings.

No but I have always thought there was some truth to the Travis Walton story. He has been consistent since it happened 47 years ago.

I like that he said that the movie “Fire in the Sky” was too Hollywood of a portrayal of what really happened. He didn’t think the aliens were trying to abuse him but that they were actually trying to help him after they blasted him.

That's an excellent question and worth pondering The thing had ample opportunity to take over Clark but didn't,

Was it somehow advantageous for clark to remain human?

This whole idea of life forms from elsewhere is a bit sobering. What of there are silicon based viruses...to which there is no defense. We haven’t done so great with bat based viruses like covid.

Interesting little detail. I met him at the bar at Little America in Flagstaff AZ and we talked for sometime. He did sound like he was afraid of them. In some ways he was still secretive, like he couldn't talk with me about certain aspects, or maybe withholding stuff from the whole world. He did come across as honest.

I think I would be freaked out for the rest of my life if all that happened to me. And let’s not forget, he got zapped by an alien defense weapon system, something no one has ever had the misfortune of experiencing- and his body’s just not the same after that. Shit’s outta whack!

So, yes, I do believe in UFOs because I’ve seen them, and though I haven’t seen any aliens, I believe that they exist as well. Hell, what else could be flying those UFOs? :D

That's true. I was camping at Sand Creek Pass near Red Feather Lakes in northern Colorado in 1980 or 81 and the dude camped near me turned out to be Louis L'Amour the famous western writer. We talked a lot and he told me a lot about the 1930s and his time in the army during WWII. He was a tank commander at the Battle of the Bulge.

I don't think he would have lived if it was defense related. It must have been an accident, maybe related to their hovering power? He seemed ok for the most part. His speech was ok and his walking was ok. He was clear minded too.
