There is a famous psychiatrist who
said exactly that. It's all about sex. And the interesting thing is: That's how life continues on for years and years. The Book of Enoch tells that aliens --The Sons of Heaven-- came to earth and had sex with human women ... the daughters of man. In the Bible, there is Genesis 6.4 which tells the same in a shorter version. The Book of Enoch was removed from the Bible of Western Christians but retained by The Eastern Christian Church, The Coptic Christians, The Ethiopian Christians, The Muslims, and the Ethiopian Ge'ez Jews. There must be something in these reports of inter-stellar sex?

Think about it, when the Bible was written the neighborhood bar had the only available entertainment. Aliens can be assholes when they get drunk.

believe in? i believe in our universe (there might or might not be others, and there are hundreds of galaxies in it, and billions of solar systems in each of them) being a very large ocean (yes bigger then that) and that we, however we came to exist, are one very small drop, among others, in it. others who owe nothing to what we believe or disbelieve, and even less to what we look like, or imagine other life forms can. and yes, we can all enjoy it without being the threat to each other, that believing it was all made just so we could exist in it, makes us potentially to everyone else.

might they wish to protect themselves from that potential threat and have every right to do so? certainly. might they be keeping an eye on us and wishing and hoping we will grow up to become a responsible and considerate adult among them, this i believe is very much probable too. are they something non-physical, some kind of spirit stuff? no. but they are as likely to have such things as are we. just their own versions of them. no ours.

might they have technologies more advanced then we can imagine? many might. probably at least some do. but again they are no one thing. each sapiently inhabited world, is as unique from every other, and remember there might be uncountable billions of them, as it is from our own. naturally, this ought to be kind of obvious, everyone who can observe us, shares a common interest in not being over run and tyrannized by the threat we potentially represent until we recognize their right to exist being exactly equal to our own.

taking all that into account, it should come as no surprise that strange things can occasionally be seen in our skies. most of which are more likely to be of more familiar origin, which still leaves many many that are not. some perhaps carrying life forms, and some as likely robotic probes, with their own on board artificial intelligence, much like those with which we are starting ourselves to explore the other worlds of our own solar system.

and i do, very much look forward to the day, that open and transparent diplomatic relationships can be established with this earth, just as they inevitably exist, technological capabilities permitting, between the worlds of other solar systems, with each other.

i believe in a universe that was here, and populated by sapient people, long before humans were ever thought of.

Does what he said make sense to any of those that claim to have been abducted or have had contact with alien beings? AI wouldn’t be needed in order to contact us, since their form of communication, by all the accounts mentioned by abductees, was through telepathy.

well the first line is about humor, but it is laughable how ridiculously high an opinion humans have of their species.
or its place in a universe so much larger then their beliefs can even begin to imagine, let alone give it credit for.

A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, while ignorance can be bliss, which is why pride goeth before the fall! Humans have too high an opinion of themselves, and mother nature is about to explain the house rules!

It’s all programmed into us for a reason- all of it, and it’s all part of a bigger plan.

Its nice to know the environment collapsing and everyone cooking to death is all part of the plan. Let me guess, its a government plan?

    *Edit

Do you think the government had anything to do with the Ice Age, the Great Flood, every major disaster that’s happened, happening, and will continue to happen?

The NSA fried a rather large quantum computer in their lobby, it was a distraction from their other experiments. Time travel is the next big thing in tourism!

Owing that the ultimate speed limit in our polyverse is 3.0x10^8 meters per second, I doubt we have been visited by extraterrestrials unless they are very old and very tired after a very long trip.

NASA already has a prototype warp drive engine, they expect to use sometime in the next fifty years. Its still crude technology by any standard, but your calculation fails to take Relativity and quantum mechanics into the picture. Theoretically, its very possible to travel to Alpha Centauri in four months, but even warp drives like that might only allow us to visit our local neighborhood, within a few hundred light years of earth. However, all the theories are wrong, all of them, I mean ALL of them, because quantum mechanics don't even touch on the reality.

The newest warp drive theory, would allow you to travel to Alpha Cenauri in four months, and not experience time dilation, because it generates a warp field inside the ship as well, a type of soliton wave. We'll just have to wait for the computers to make fools out of all the theorists.

well they could have slept on the way, that's one way that's been suggested as a work around, big "if" of course about low passage to begin with.
there have been other proposals, and of course, we've yet to accelerate anything larger then a bunch of sub atomic particles to anywhere near that,
so until we do, the relationship between mass and energy MIGHT be an absolute speed limit, but we really don't KNOW that it is.
not denying we have very good reasons to expect it to be, but until we come up with some way of doing that, we don't really KNOW.
