i see ... it sounds like you've had a lotta issues with misdirected hate :(

as most of us, i learned in my teens that hate is an emotion that needs to be investigated and considered fully before being acted on... and i'm no stranger to my emotions.... but well said anyway :)

I think it is the norm in general. What does a guilty verdict represent, that someone or something has not fulfilled a role that we had assigned to them.
Is it our role then to burn the lint off other peoples souls?

It took me many years to develop an adult recognition of emotional dynamics.
I actually dealt with rage at about age five. At age five I was in the family room enjoying the social interaction of being all together. I was in a big house with children from several different families and I was told suddenly it was time for bed and I desperately wanted to extend this moment as it was personally stimulating. I began to protest and I began to be handled by people bigger than me to enforce the edict and I went to rage and begin foaming at the mouth in exasperation while being drug up the stairs out of the family room, and I blurted out loud the word fuck. I had no idea that I was saying a word, much less that I was saying a prohibited word, however the reaction was dramatic and the hostility against me was redoubled. At any rate, it was a shock to realize that my anger had produced a sound, that unknown to myself, would cause me such grief. I reflected on the injustice of the situation, of being punished for a violation that I didn't realize I was making, and vowed from then on to keep my wits.

Some people Oz, get their emotional direction from Jerry Springer.

Just pointing out that self comprehension does not proceed in a regulated manner. Not everyone matures at the same rate.
The statement about souls is a figure of speech. We get angry because a person or thing has not fulfilled the role we have assigned it. To burn the lint off is to be angry at them because they didn't "do right" in our eyes. Some people never unravel their own anger because they believe it's source is outside of them.
It only has to do with you personally, if you take it personally.
