I believe there is a higher power, but it could be Pablo The Dorito Eating Mexican for all I know. ...Or The Mexican Staring Frog Of Southern Sri Lanka
Not in a God seperate and outside of the universe. I believe that the universe might have a balancing synchonizing mechanism to it, and that this runs through each of us, thru stars, etc etc. Both Hinduism (Namaste means, in effect, "I salute the divinity within you") and for example mystical judaism talks of a divine light within every person, ever thing etc ect - the universe might itself be some great cosmic entity - & we are manifestations of its ability to observe itself.
I agree. I do sincerely believe there is some higher power, but I have no idea what it is or does. It can be a being, or simply just a system (like karma or enlightenment). I believe that each and eveyone should seek their own personal connection to whatever is guiding us. I also believe that this can be achieved through nature and drugs simultaneously. And I maintain that the Christian, Muslim, and Jewish idea of god is not even close. Buddhism and Hinduism, possibly closer, but NO religion has really nailed it IMO.
Do i believe in one god, the power almighty, creator of heaven and earth? Uhh fuck no. Do i believe in a connecting force that binds all life together...yes. I believe faith is wonderful and i applaud those who have faith, in anything. If you honestly believe that the earth was comissioned by little white mice power to you! I think religion is bullshit and i look down on those who have religion
a great man once said "That was the fatal flaw in Tim Leary's trip. He crashed around America selling "consciousness expansion" without ever giving a thought to the grim meat-hook realities that were lying in wait for all the people who took him seriously... All those pathetically eager acid freaks who thought they could buy Peace and Understanding for three bucks a hit. But their loss and failure is ours too. What Leary took down with him was the central illusion of a whole life-style that he helped create... a generation of permanent cripples, failed seekers, who never understood the essential old-mystic fallacy of the Acid Culture: the desperate assumption that somebody... or at least some force - is tending the light at the end of the tunnel."
i beleive we are all biological beings, death is just a cease of our organs functioning. I know a lot of people yearn for soemthing more then that, but that helps me live life fully everyday. i think its ok for people to believe there is a god, if thats what they need for motivation. Recovering criminals, addicts, ect may need motivation to choose to do the right thing. As long as they dont try to force thier veiws on me. the people i cant stand are these ultra conservative priase the lord and screw you if you dont people. The ones that are activly fighting gay rights and the right to choose. Im straight and have never had the need for an abortion, but cmon, let others live thier life. If their is a god, im fucked
i believe there is something that created this universe. i do think there is a god but every single religion is wrong about almost everything they say...maybe believe in mother nature because that's what rules us. if that any made sense at all. this kush has got to me
I am guessing there are aspects of every religion that are right and wrong and that no one religion is completely right or wrong about which god exists or doesn't exist.
Who said evolution wasn't created, too? Who says things aren't created to evolve. And... the thing is, people create their own reality and perceptions of God and make it more complicated than it should be. I say knowing the actual concpts of God would be too much for us to even comprehend or handle, as human beings. If we can hardly knowing where we came from, how are we supposed to comprehend anything else...
