I dunno, sort of.... To explain why would be to explain my entire view on reality and why I believe in everything...
i personally believe in spirits but im not sure about ghosts. and when i say "spirits" im sure it means a different thing then some people would think of spirits to be...
the soul... etc., i personally believe that energy never really leaves so that's how i think of spirit but of course, it could, i believe, have many definitions.
spirit- that there is something that exists seperate from the human body that can exist without a physical body ghost- however you define it... typically someone that is dead that can be seen by the living energy- the scientific definition- "cannot be destroyed...." believe- um, believe
In my opinion, the notions being used in the discussion are not defined well enough to refine and increase collective agreement. The definitions do not have to be 'true' (not possible anyway), but they should be uniformly accepted by those engaged in the discussion.....unless of course, their is no purpose to the discussion....in the latter case, nothing needs to 'mean' anything. Don't you think so?
Good beginning....you see....simply by taking the time to construct some definitions (good or bad), you have identified perhaps the most difficult notion of this bunch.....'believe'......this magnificient source of paradox and problematic epistemological issues.
i watched my daughter being pinched, freaked out and knocked over by something. i prefer to think it was a ghost than some neurological problem. though i had her checked anyway. so, i guess i believe in something.
