I make a point to drop by this amazing chapel a time or two a year They dont have actual services here that I know about though, its more for personal communion
I am from a Catholic family thus I went every week when I was a kid. Soon as I turned 18, however, I walked away from it. If you catch me heading to church these days you'll know someone is either getting married or buried.
My dad was an atheist and my mom thought the Earth was seeded by aliens, so that's a no for me. My friend Cindi asked me to go along with her family recently and I went. Really nice people there, but definitely not my atmosphere. This rebel roams alone.
Nope. And I mean no disrespect in my following response. I think oganized religion is dangerous thing. But I support anyone who finds peace, comfort, and positives in their lives from it. My God lives all around me. Doesn't require that I go to a specific place and be told how to recognize him how they tell me to.
I go in the Mosque because its near the beer store.. And when you pronounce the name of the Mosque is sounds like "out a weed".. Allah Is Great..
I would have to agree with @Tyrsonswood & @NotMyRealName. I need no church nor place of manmade worship. The Great Spirit is all around me & within me. I hear the Thunder Beings in the Storm, give thanks to Grandfather Sun & Grandmother Moon, each in turn for their blessings, & feel Mother Earth's gentle caress with each step I take.
I attended a Jewish Shabbat once as a guest and that was a nice experience. I also went to a Sufi group a few times. I liked the energetic dancing and poetry but on my last visit they went a bit over the top on the 'Allah' business so that was it for me.
I am a Unitarian-Universalist. I attend Wiccan meetups on Wednesdays. Once a month I participate in a gay men's group in West Hollywood. Not so grounding, that one!
I am glad to hear that. It's a great movie. The Last Supper/Swan Lake scene gets me every time. I am thinking about watching it tonight. Because why not.
Yups, in fact I'm sure the majority of dutch people first think of beer when they hear the word trappist
