Jefferson grew hemp, and he probably didnt even know that if he smoked it it would get him high... although if he did smoke it it would explain his far out ideas about people and governments. But then again, who wants to get stoned and read Locke? Hopefully before I die they will legalize the stuff. I just dont understand why they repealed prohabition but they never repealed the marijuana laws. If everyone could get more people to smoke, that would probably really help the movement.

You also have to remember, mexicans were "taking" all the white jobs, the mexicans were available in very large numbers at very low prices.All the mexicans and blacks smoked the good herb; you get rid of the plant, you get rid of the "problem".
