do people spell your name wrong?

In everyone's defense, the language of DirtBagism is a difficult one to master.

 

It's not exactly a misspelling, but people usually think my full name is Tamara but it is just Tammy.

 

If you were a black woman perhaps we could call you Tamitra!

 

people always get my name wrong, naturally. even when i'm standing right in front of them TELLING them. i usually just give up and write it for them, give them a moment to blink, await the inevitable "this is your LEGAL name? it's on your birth certificate?" then carry on with my life.

There's a lot of kids at work named Casey, you were just ahead of the crowd. Like me no one was named lynsey when my mom named me and now it's like the most common name ever for those who are like 5 years younger than me but than no one really young is named it-strange.

 

barely, i have a easy name to pronounce and spell. thank you mom and dad! two of my buddies and me had to take this class and we had to call to make appointments. well,, the lady we talked to had to ask my two buddies how to spell their names and when i called and gave my name, she said i had an easy name to spell. yay for me...

 

yes, I have had people come up with tons of different ways to spell my name..here are a few I've seen this last year:
Cheryl, Cheryle, Sheryl, sherrill, Cheral, Cherryll, Shareil,

My first name, no. However, my last name is Grzegorczyk, so noone ever gets it right.

 

All the time. Tara and both of the last names I've sported.

 

It's not spelling as much as it is the wrong pronounciation. People can be so dense! KIMBERLY! What the heck is so hard with that? And 99% of people can't spell or pronounce my last name, the only people that can are my friends. I have double letters in it, and they at least always forget 1. Sigh...

 

I get my first and last names mispronounced and misspelled a lot... i've gotten used to it over the years. half the time I don't even correct them if I don't plan on seeing them again

my little brother's name is dalzell. it used to be a headache for him, until he started writing it D.L.
