Do friends knock on your door?

I'm having this discussion on facebook because I HATE it when people knock on my door. I have an open door policy at my house. If you're coming to my house and I know you're coming then just walk in. Don't knock on the damn door. All of my friends and family know to just walk in.

If I don't know you and you feel the need to knock on my door then more than likely I don't want to talk to you so just go away.

If I'm home and my door is locked then that usually means you don't want to walk in right now or you may see something you can't unsee.

If you're showing up unannounced then you are entering at your own risk.
JUST DON'T KNOCK ON MY GOD DAMN DOOR!!!!

So at your house, do your friends and family knock or do they just walk in?

I don't like having people over, being a very private person. The few times that people do come over, they better knock.

On the other hand, never in my life have I knocked on a friend's door. I always just let myself in.

 

Nobody's home.

 

I am going to come in and see for myself.

I don't expect people to knock on my door, the dogs tell me when someone drives up and I can tell by thier bark if they are freind or foe. Most foes won't get out of the car.

 

I also prefer people to knock but some just keep on barging in. If you blame it on their enthusiasm to see you it seems not so bad :biggrin:

I like it when people knock cuz I like to chill naked.

 

Yeah, I'm not naked that much but if they enter without knocking I don't feel it's my fault

 

We have a long driveway, and the dogs always tell me when someone is here long before they get to the door. I'm always there to open it before they get there.

 

Of course they knock.
I also like it when they call in advance.

 

They don't knock on my door but the wooden wall next to it can get a hiding from one of my friends even though we usually hear him carrying on up the footpath well before he makes it to the front door.
In my new place I want to get a door bell but I have a tendency to get really annoyed at the same sounds eg. My phone ringtones and message alerts, so I'll need a good doorbell song.
I'm personally thinking you can't beat "Dixieland" =D

I have to buzz people into the building, so I know that they're coming up anyway.

if I had friends, I'd want them to throw pebbles at my window in the middle of the night and we'd go shopping at a 24 hour store in our pj's
