Christians don't bother me, its the crazy ones that feel the need to convert everyone to their religion that bother me.
True Christians don't go shoving their beliefs down peoples throats. It annoys the *&#$ outta me to see professed Christians treat people badly. I come from a Seventh-day Adventist background like mynameiskc. My father is a Pastor. If you went by sterotypes you'd think that he'd be a conservatice Republican but he's a moderate Democrat. Why? He learned to think for himself. From the time my brother and I were very young my folks taught us to think for ourselves. A lot of Christians don't know how to think for themselves. Thats probably why alot of professed Christians are Republicans. I don't go spouting off about my beliefs to those around me. If someone asks me what I believe then I will tell them. There is an old song that says "They will know we are Christians by our love". Countless people have been turned off by unloving Christians because those professing to be Christians did not show agape(divine love) or phileo(brotherly love) to those around them. Yes there are a few bad apples in the applebarrel of Christianity. So please don't toss the whole barrel because a few apples are bad. You will find that there are some pretty sweet apples in the barrel. Ya just gotta look for em. I don't have a problem with religeon, just the churches.--Mark Twain
yes, christians bother me. my grandfather was a christian reverend, a good man, but he did not preach to people. he loved, accepted, and would give anything he could to a stranger if they needed it. but that just means he was a good person, it has nothing to do with christianity. christians scare me, quite frankly. mainly just the ones who are either malicious or pushy about it are the ones who bother me though.
"They will know we are Christians by our love". That's in a song they sing in church. I do agree that there are a lot of great and not so great people of every religion, I don't think you should immediately dismiss them just because they belong to a particular faith
I agree, they don't bother me either. Even fanatical fundamentalists don't. They get an A for effort though, they sure try hard. How silly to demand someone else believe the same religion as you. I wrote something about that very idea: I command you to change your personal spiritual beliefs immediately, and believe exactly whatever I decide is the correct interpretation of whichever one of the multitude of scriptures in the world that I say is the ONE TRUE RELIGION. If you refuse, I am compelled to warn you, the most hideous tortures that the worst criminal minds that ever lived will be enacted upon your person for no less than a googleplex to the power of a googleplex millenia. That is a fairly long time, I might add.
naturally you don't have to be a christian to be a good person. but you're not a bad person because you're a christian.
that was pretty sharp, blackguard! i copied it to an email and sent it to a friend to read... brilliant! thanks.
Jim Bakker, Ernest Angely, Swaggart, 'Oral' Roberts, Jerry 'fullofit' Falwell, etc. To me, they are nothing but predators ripping the hearts out of little old ladies, and smiling while they do.
