I can differentiate between sloppy thought and random drunken ramblings, to genuine thought out and honest feelings - I hope
I know some people don't put a hell of a lot of thought into what they type and sometimes it is a knee jerk reaction.
But, this thought has been swirling around my head for quite some time, and it isn't just the Americans on HipForums.

Perhaps I should start a new thread with e.gs.

I think it's debatable whether your examples in the OP are opposites.
And I don't see how you think those are the only two opinions Americans have on the subject.
There's of course always "I would like to keep me and my children safe, however, Swine Flu isn't much of a threat in the modern world"
    and
"The media is overreacting again, this is annoying, what else is on?"
    and
"*Cough* OMG!!! I have Swine Flu - I'm too young too die, NOOOOOO"

And if it's not just the Americans on HF, why did you make this thread about Americans not HFers?
You're just a bigot dude. (But I hate 98% of British guys cause they act just like you [but oddly I sorta like you] so, I guess I can't say much.)

Jon Stewart, that Colbert guy and SNL - Hilarious, I roll around laughing every time I watch those programmes, so witty so "on the money" - wow ...

    Interesting.

It is a bit too early in the morning to know if that makes any sense at all.

    What would they be then.
I asked you a few days ago and you didn't say anything.
I'd be interested to know what some of these are - recent ones not ones you drag up from 1952 - thanks.

It isn't just what I watch/read via the media.
When researching something and finding peoples comments below articles or on Digg etc...It does come across quite strongly.

I can't stand Jon Stewart or any of his team...I hope you are joking about him being your most trusted newsman.

They seem fairly opposite to me.
One is panic stricken and slightly paranoid the other is filled with apathy.

    I did say:

Because it isn't just Americans on the HipForums.

I am being slightly tongue in cheek here...and I was really seeing if it held up to any scrutiny.
I still think it does...but I'm not apposed to other thoughts on the matter.
I thank you for taking the effort to make a genuine comment on this issue...rather than making lulz.

He is. Read about it in Huffington Post or something.
It's far better than any of the other choices we have. I love Jon Stewart himself, his news team can be iffy, and sometimes he goes too long on a bad joke, but his interviews are great, and he does have quite a bit of wit and intellect to him.

And you really can't trust the Internet either.
Aside form these forums, all I run into on the Internet are idiots and loonies - yet, I tend to find people in real life have much more variety and uh.. brains.

I don't watch Jon Stewart, nor do I find him to be that funny. But sadly, you will hear more truth (albeit very little) on his show than you will on any of the alphabet news networks.

I really feel sorry for you guys then.
To be fair, I can tolerate some of his more serious interviews, but he's no Jeremy Paxman http://www.buzzfeed.com/coneee/check-out-jeremy-paxman-uk-journalist-who-has-a-r-a9z-6w
    http://www.speakerscorner.co.uk/fil...-presenter-newsnight-journalist-politics.html

I imagine they like him at the Huffington post because they are of similar persuasions. (Obama loving liberals.)

You can't look at much of the Internet then.

Might check it out later. Too sleepy right now.
I don't keep up with them at all, I tend to run into a lot of their articles on StumbleUpon. They seem to lean towards liberalism for sure, but I'm pretty sure they are iffy on Obama, and the Daily Show criticizes the Obama administration like mad - so yeah, I'm not quite sure what you're talking about there.
And no, they don't love him, there were studies done, he won most trusted in 45 states. Couric's homestate went to her, and I forget who the other two anchors they used were, but they each got two.

    I would. :)

My feeling is The Huff' and TDS want Obama to be the person to transform America and do what they want him to do. Any criticism is because he isn't doing this. I have not felt the same sense of disdain for Obama as I had felt with with Bush...
But it isn't a regular visit of mine, so I might be a little skewed there, to be honest.

I'll take your word for it about Jon being the most trusted, and stick with the opinion I feel sorry for you guys if it is true.

Ahah, it's just one study, I don't give it much credence, but it still made me happy, cause the news in America SUCKS. Personally, The Onion is my favorite news source =P

They don't have the disdain they had for Bush, no, but they definitely give out equally harsh criticism on occasion. They did a pretty neat story about how Obama talked about transparency in government, and now he won't even release the guest list.

I do not see the world as black or white.

Follow the money and everything in the USA is about money.

The 3 doctors in my family say there is no reason to vaccinate against swine flue. I asked each of my cousins if they would take the vaccine.

    They said no.

The swine flue thing was and is hype,

But who is going to profit off all of this? The medical companies. Who is the Ginny pigs? The citizens of the USA.

This was a brilliant marketing plan.

No, I really am not interested in exchanging links because it is just my own opinion that is based on the fact...I am a Capitalist.

Everything is about the money. It is all green.

But is is perfectly fine and well if others want to take an unproven vaccination. The Pharmaceutical companies will love your money.

Edit...Okay I suppose my answer was black and white. ;)

Perhaps. But my response was also totally correct.

But at least I can admit that I do see things as black and white (or Green).:)
