My DM is my wicked wizardous mate. Him and his girlfriend are so into DnD that everything flows really well and we all get into it. They even go to live RP festivals etc.
my favorite campaign was when my lil elf rogue had to make the perfect sandwich. haha elves bread, sliced werebear meat, magic herbs for spice... lol im such a fuckin loser. we were bored though....
i have a hard time really getting into it... i prefer to focus on the mechanics of combat, char. advancement, etc. It's just a little outside my comfort zone to do too much acting...
Did anyone here know that if you go to the wizards of the coast site that they have a whole bunch of free adventures for all levels of characters? This thread has inspired me to download and print off a few adventures and try to put my group back together (or at least whats left of it).
My parents got my brother and I into it early, and I spread it to some friends and we played fairly regularly. That group fell apart when our DM left, but it's still occasionally a family activity. Damn, I want to play again now, too.
nope. didn't know that but i do now! tnx. i'll check it out. woc's website ought to be easy enough to find. if i haven't already and forgotten doing so. =^^= .../\...
no never played dungeons and dragons or talisman......I was really into games workshop Warhammer 40,000 and Blood Bowl stuff at one point though...I still have a shit load of minatures and armies in the loft that i'm not sure what to do with... I've been looking to sell it all on ebay, but then some of them are painted really well and look pretty damn good, and I think of all the time that went into painting them and the amount of money I spent on them and to be honest I don't feel comfortable parting with them!
I use to be into Warhammer 40,000 too. I still am kind of, but the only people I know who play are the dorks at the game shop and they are way to into it. The dork factor is too high for me. All the guys that play there are in their thirties, still live at home with their parents, and have never known the touch of a woman. It's sad really. They spend almost all of their waking lives wrapped up in the game. As soon as you set up to play a game there all of them will croud around the table and start telling you what you should do, arguing rules with you and each other, and generaly being a pain in the ass to anyone who is actualy involved in the game.
lol well i'd rather have a game of blood bowl than a game of trivial pursuit or monopoly...put it that way
The rules are more complex, immeasurably better thought out but all the buzz words were there. We were playing a system that didn't involve dice with a group of nerds. I'm not going back.
