Diversity is our strength?

I don't think diversity quotas are necessarily good but I don't think blacks, women and other minorities are inherently liabilities either. There is probably a fine line between forced diversity and implicit prejudices. Actually I don't even think the line is that fine, people should just be judged upon their individual skills and accolades.

 

No soldiers are more notorious for having bum sex with eachother than navy seals either. I'm wondering maybe that's something to do with why they have 'girly guns'?

It depends on the details. But to be against it by definition because one has some principle about diversity is of course retarded.

That we both live in a relative fair and equal society now is of course for a large part thanks to people who saw a chance for improvement earlier, so yeah...

 

Yes, it's the only way to treat blacks and other non-white races. Shut them out of jobs, housing, and anything else they want. I mean--who in the hell do they think they are? A little prejudgement never hurt anyone. Why do they deserve special treatment now. They've been so accepted and treated wonderfully since the civil war---just don't get why they still complain----just because a few get shot here and there doesn't mean much. Their "place"was decided centuries ago and it's damn time they realize it. It's good to know that there are plenty of white folks pushing back against these thankless ingrates.

Now why would I watch that? I won't bother because I don't dislike black people because they're black people. I don't see that as helpful to the general welfare of ANY of us as citizens of the US.

In the last century and a half, the world has become a much smaller place that demands diversity as a way to promote tolerance. If the US were all German, we probably would have made the Nazis look tame by this point.

I see the quota system as flawed.
From the angle of ethnicity. When it applies to larger companies, they seem perfectly free to fill the quotas however they like. All to often employing 100% black cleaners will satisfy the requirement..... How in the world does this achieve racial harmony.
Specialist companies should be exempt, particularly when another country is part of their theme or business. I see no problem with an upmarket Chinese or Indian restaurant being entirely staffed by people from the represented country.
As you said, for everyone else selection should be based on suitability, but I regard personality and experience as important as qualifications alone.

Needless to say, age discrimination is becoming a problem for me. Although technically illegal, many companies find loopholes.
Having run 5 theaters for 17 years without a single loss of performance due to a technical failure and driven for 50 years without an accident or driving conviction, I consider myself well qualified to look after a 747.
I wonder whether British Airways will turn out to be real killjoys when I apply for a job as a pilot on my 70th birthday.

Diversity is great because it gives you new perspectives. The wisest man knows there is much he does not know. It would be nice if we did not need laws to force it though. The best person regardless who cares what they look like.

A few black people claim it's because they are black when they are just a bad employee. Those few make some white people nervous. No one wants to be sued. But overall I think black people are playing by the same rules and frivolous lawsuits are thrown out.

Not sure about that but there is ZERO per Navy rules that says you have to be white. It's best of the best regardless. I can tell you my cousins best friend was black. And they met in the Marine Special Forces. They did not have a fancy name like SEAL I was just told they were beyond normal Marines and went behind enemy lines to save hostages and things like that if needed. The rest was classified I guess. More racism from an insecure person. I'm sure that black man could out work and think you in many ways.
