yeah if you feel up to it re-do 'em but it's not a big deal if you don't :/ It will all sort itself out in the end
Just finished redoing the ones that had come out. I definitely feel like I did a better job with them this time, I think they'll stay now. Sucks though, they're back to sticking out at crazy angles. Nothing a bit of time tomorrow wearing a tight hat won't solve.
Dammit, somehow all the newly twisted and ripped stuff in the back came out completely again - not even any trace of sectioning left. I'm gonna redo it one more time tonight, but this is definitely the last time. No point keeping redoing it, it'll dread itself eventually. I just want to see if I can get it to stay this time.
Shouldn't be - I'm in the middle of redoing them right now, trying to make them as tight as possible, but some of the spots where it all came out the hair is at least 5 inches.
How sood are you washing after you dread them up? The longer you wait, the better chance they will stay in
Wouldn't the oil from not washing have a counter-productive effect though, like lubing up the hair? (damn, i can't take the word lube seriously)
The less you wash, the less your scalp will produce. it might go through a few greasy days at first, but your scalp will adjust. i just rinse my hair once every few months (if that) and my scalp is extremely dry and dreads tight
diton, I'm three and a half months in and I haven't dreaded all of my underneath yet. It fell out after initially backcombed and I tried to put them back in a couple months ago, but they just slid out again. I have done one side now, but still one came undone. I'll likely try the other side in a couple weeks time. I'd just leave it for now.
pat doesn't your hair get wet when you shower? that would be considered rinsing yes? Or do you not shower?
i tie mine up too. it would be horrible if my hair got wet every time i showered. *wants to see pats shower hairstyle*
