Loosen the screws on her chair so she falls on her ass - is this for cartoon husbands & wives? lol. Any man who actually takes any of those tips seriously probably isnt bright enough to land himself a lady in the first place...

Weight is a touchy subject for a lot of people. A lot of women.

    Anorexia.. Bulemia.. Obesity..

NOT to be toyed around with. No matter who it's making fun of, and no matter how "funny" it is supposed to be

what gets me about this rather bad humor is that it continues to treat women as objects, not humans.
Guessing a lot of the males who laugh have some extra (and unhealthy in the long run) pounds themselves.

well, obviously they're not serious. but everyone loves a good sexist joke from time to time. like: what do you tell a woman with two black eyes? nothing you haven't told her twice. to be responded to with: what do you buy an abused wife for her birthday? ginsu knife and a tank of gas.

it's gallows humor. men are just more into it than women.

that is SO FUCKED UP and makes me want to cry :(
all girls are just perfect and amazing and beautiful
my girl went away for 4 months and gained 10 pounds and i never even noticed, she had to tell me and i was like REALLY??? and like...i still thought she was the cutest thing in the universe
if you love someone you would never have a problem with their body
if you do then clearly you're just shallow and don't love them. any guy who would do any of that or would laugh at it as if it's a harmless joke, doesn't deserve to be with any girl.EVER.
in this screwed up society even a little comment about these subjects however serious or not serious can greatly effect a woman's self esteem and body image and push her towards having an eating disorder.

Everyone in the world, male and female, has a sensitive spot that they would prefer it if people didn't mention. Maybe they're fat, or ugly, or balding, or you have a small schlong, or you're a little slow, or whatever... the difference is that guys are less willing to get upset about it, simply because they're guys and getting upset about it is kinda girly.

It's just not cool for most guys to be 'in touch with their soft side'-- so they do these kinds of things for show-- to prove they're men. But really, when they get back to their girlfriends, they can be themselves... because usually girls are willing to accept all that girly stuff inside them that they'd rather not have to confront when they're hanging out with other guys.

This is part of guys being guys-- and I don't know many women who deep down inside don't want their guy to be a guy. Do you seriously want a guy who would read this kind of thing and say 'Wow-- that's so offensive. I personally want to write askmen.com and tell them to take it down!'. How faggy is that??? Trust me, if he would go to this extreme, it would only prove to you that he wants to be one of the girls.

No, most girls cherish the separation between men and women... even if the separation is slight, it must exist. And this article is that separation at work.

Believe it or not, most guys are bright enough to realize that this kind of stuff belongs in the 'guy zone'... because most guys actually don't want to get into some heated conflict with their significant other, and provided they're secure in themselves, care enough about them to not want to upset them or make them feel low.

I don't think its anyone responsibility if someone is stupid enough to take this seriously or resort to an eating disorder.

anyone ever read the crap they put on cosmopolitan about how to manipulate men?

    it's entertainment. get over it.

Some women will take offence, most will prob. laugh, others will fight back. Anything that's written in most entertainment magazines will end up offending a group of people. If they're supposed to watch every article they write because of that, entertainment magazines will end up being as interesting as reading the dictionary.

Men always say things like that when they're trying to rationalize childish, idiotic behavior.

and woman only choose bits and pieces of a comment to focus on, rather than commenting on all that was said.

Those articles in cosmo are just as sexist. They tell girls, "hey, you're nothing without a man, so since you're probably not with one because you're reading this shitty magazine, here's how you can get one. and when he dumps you, here's how to get over him and find someone new. also, take this quiz to see if you're as good as you should be."

it's all stupid, dumb, cheap entertainment, which is why it shouldn't affect anyone to the point of considering it "disgusting".

Looking at how the media portrays men/women, how about how men are portrayed in 95% of television ads out there? If it deals with any household appliance or anything close to it, the man in the ad is always the dumb clueless character who has no idea what he's doing.

Same thing with sitcoms... If it's a family show, the father is the clueless helpless one who has no idea how to handle the children, or any situation, and the mother/wife is the one who fixes everything.

But, again, it's cheap entertainment, and it shouldn't be taken further than that .

No, it is more than entertainment. People actually do go to Cosmo or AskMen for advice. Even unintentionally, people learn how they're supposed to be, their roles, through these publications.

And you're totally right about the commercials and sitcoms; I've noticed that too. Really pretty, witty women are always with fat, loserish, pathetic husbands. It's all sexist. And people should be aware of that sexism, instead of merely brushing it off as entertainment.

Small dicks are something some men are (unfortunately) born with. obesity is a disease that can be changed. Big difference.

For the people who do take Cosmo and AskMen seriously, that's their own stupidity.
Furthermore, sexism exists. Women and men ARE different. Trying to say we're all exactly the same is silly. Trying to be politically correct is like trying to grab a piece of shit by the clean end.
People are aware of sexism. I'm aware of sexism, but I'm smart enough to see past it. We don't need to censor everything in the name of not hurting anyone's feelings. its SELF esteem; you're responsible for your own.

if i'm no longer attracted to a girl because she's fat, i have every right to get rid of her, just as if she wasn't attracted to me for some reason, she would have every right to do the same thing.

women can be goddamn manipulative when they want to be.

    it goes both ways.

    "men men men men men!"
