what's wrong with white wine? I really like the Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay. It is around $8-10 a bottle and tastes excellent. Plus it's far more classy than beer or hard stuff when you're with the girls.

You're obviously not a very good drinking or know that having a drink or 2 a day is not only totaly healthy but can actually improve your health.

And I must disagree about the wine, I know red wine is the favorite among wine drinkers, but white wine just taste so much better.

Thats the thing with the hospitality industry... once you make tips, you have to give tips, and good tips. Why? Because we can easily recall the many times (A day...) that we got pissed off because of RUDE PEOPLE/BAD TIPPERS. And to me, $300 for four people is good, I guess. I usually spend about $40-60 on myself.

being a bartender in training, and having learned etiquette on many occations i find some of your advice to be good, but alot of it is alittle ridiculous
i would like to read more later on though :)

nothing is wrong with white wine, persay but it does not go well with much else besides cheese, or drinking by itself

red, however can be dranken with practically any meal, and suit the meal well, again its all personal preferance, but imo red wine is the tops, and yea your right, the kendall-jackson is actually a great bottle of wine for the price!

Ah cmon dj. I know where hes coming from. If you dont drink all the time, but decide to 1 night its not like your going to go to the store and buy the most expensive, finest liquor, or wine. Your gonna get some cheap hard shit, chug it and have a fun night. But, if your a frequent drinker, then i agree with you dj. You should know how to do it right. Its like saying "Im no noob to smoking weed, brb im picking up some shwag for 40 an 8th!", the shwag will fuck you up, but its not really the best/classy way to get blazed. Also, drinking very cheap liquor if your a frequent drinker is like smoking out of a ghetto bong all the time, ya just dont do it! But IMO, your both right. Its just the type of person you are.

    =smokindude's two cents.

yep, but the only form of seafood i eat is sushi, i cant stand lobster or crab in a surf and turf style dish, but yes your definatly right, although red can also be drank with lots of different shellfish.

fair enough, although thats how I, and many other people i know feel about wine, perhaps you could offer your opinions to improve on this thread?

i dont give tips because food and drink is expensive enough already. tips are good if you go to a place regularly enough for them to recognise you, because the service gets better. ive learnt this from observation, not from giving tips myself. honestly, especailly at a bar, alchohol is so expensive it makes me angry.

You need to give tips, because bartenders and servers usually only get about $2.30/hour and make most of their money through tips. Basically, they don't get what they work for if they don't get tips.
