no, I never knew anyone who did, but I do remember some very militant women, who had shorn hair, & wore things like dungarees.. it was probably necessary to make a big push for equal rights, as the suffragettes did to get the vote for women..
(As a young lad 'back in the day) "As I remember" the media made a big thing about "Burning Bras" but it was more about the symbolism than the discarding of (what I understand is) a garment of comfort for the females. Of the students whom I knew, there weren't that many bra holders (youth I guess having it's benefit(?)) I recall a couple of times when this took place, it was by was of an un-worn or over-worn garment (hence the act of symbolism(/mark of release of restraint)

(Further to my previous posting) Upon a recent conversation with an old friend from yesteryear, I do recall a time when there were a couple who did = It was a crazy night, and for a 9 year old .............. Eye opening :yikes:
