Well it's a interesting name.

Firstly, an Irminsul was a pillar erected by Saxons in Germany it was said to hold the heavens from earth. It is the phallic symbol in my avatar.

But, THE Irminsul was the great Irminsul that Wotan (Oden) hung himself on for 9 days and 9 nights falling into the abyss and bringing back runic knowledge.

Now, I always chuckle when people call me Irm, because Irm is one of Odens many names. Just like Ygg is also Oden based off Yggdrasil which is the world tree which is what the Irminsul was based off anyway.

I call my myself The Irminsul many times now on this forum because Iike to have a little mythology about myself for curiosity reasons. Now, not everyone will take the bait but those that do usually have a lot in common with me, and we become friends.

Also anyone claiming to be Irminsul in the future has some big shoes to fill, some big goofy ass clown shoes I tell ya. I'm one and only. =p

By the way, in American God's... why is Shadow so important? I don't think I can wait until next season to find out why he is important. The show stated that his importance is because he was 'the guy'. So, basically... if it wasn't him it would have been someone else. But, I just feel dissatisfied with that answer. I think he plays more importance than that.

Also, does the storyline explain who created humans, like which God? I'm assuming not all the Gods created humans?
