I think the idea behind the no quote rule is to prevent people from getting carried away and cut and pasting whole sections of the Bible. Because face it there is only so room on the server. So one short scripture maybe okay, quote whole bible not okay. Better would be to cite the scripture so that it could be looked up by those who wish to. Then you could paraphrase it when making your point.

    Dude

    He didnt.
[hav'nt you heard someone say you said something you did not? thats the bible on jesus. 'blessed are the cheesemakers']

Hell is a concept 'made on earth, by earthlings'

Unless your idea of god is a sadistic prik.
Hell hath no fury like a 'believer' scorned.
Why do you think 'true believers' are so passionate in their belief?
Cause their belief IS their identity.
Scorn their belief and u undermine them.
That is a nono. they WILL burn you before admitting a false belief
70% of humanity never think. they dont know how
Thinking isnt taught in school.. its like.. a hobby

Hell is empty! And all the devils are here. - Shakespeare

    Occam

    PS.. as an interesting 'aside'
I have yet to be bested in the small hobby of argueing about hell.
    It does not exist.
I even defeated a jesuit on this topic.. no small victory for water logic

I hope you didn’t hurt your arm patting yourself on the back!

Just in the name of truth hell does exist. Unless you’re talking about hellfire, the concept of people being burned in eternal torment, in which case I know 12 year olds that can also say they've yet to be bested in disproving hellfire and they can disprove it with more wit than I’ve read in all of your posts combined.

Try again! At most, I agree that there is no such thing as hellfire, as for the rest of his "points" he'll have to try and prove them for himself!

And as for this, when has scorn ever undermined someone's beliefs? If this were true then there would have been no scientific advancement because what new discovery has not been scorned and yet they were not undermined!

    No, im double jointed...;)

Hell does exist.?.[in the name of truth]
    Really?
    And WHAT is hellfire.
Is that like thermite with religious aspect.
Maybe the holy hand grenade [count to 5 before throwing]

Show me ONE 12 year old who will argue the non-existance of hellfire
[ and explain, i detail, why it is not possible] and i will hand you the keys to a bugati veyron.

There is no hellfire cause there is no hell.
    And you know it.
    And so does everyone else..
Hell [and hellfire] was created by men to controll others.
Fear and self interest drives humanity.
Control them and you control humanity.

Jesus speaks of hell up and down the NT.

Are you saying that people added this in? But, dont said people believe that Jesus Christ was the one and only Son of God, the Annointed One, the Messiah?

If he truely was someone of such holy importance, would YOU be so readily willing to change his words for your own means?

    So either he said it.
    Or people changed it.

How can you know which it is?

cant.. but i know one thing for sure.. people have agendas.
    Their own.

Did caesar really say 'e tu brute'

Did hilter really say 'the bigger the lie the more likely it will be believed'

I think he did.. you prove it.

    Occam

PS. And when he was alive he HAD NO HOLY IMPORTANCE.
And to me now , he still does not. Holy has no meaning..
its a church term which means nothing and never will.
HE was a wise man for his age.. and should be noted for that.
    ALL ELSE IS CRAP.

If he truely was someone of such holy importance, would YOU be so readily willing to change his words for your own means?

    Yep.. in a heartbeat.
The church that stole his name did it.. why cant i?
He was after all.. a man like you and i
Or DID HE NOT shit by the side of the road.

God does not reside in buildings of stone and monastic denial.
Lift a rock and u will find him. split a branch and there he is.

PPS please refer me to text from NT where jesus speaks of hell.. i have copy of said book here by my right hand;)
[and remember . its not what he actually said , its what someone heard say someone said someone said someone said someone said someone said someone siad someone said.[x20].he said.]

I said that hell exists because the Bible (King James translation) uses the word about 50 times according to Strong’s Concordance. So according to the Bible there is something called hell. So the question is what is hell?
The words usually translated as hell are the Hebrew and Greek words she’ohl´ and hai´des, which generally refer to the common grave of mankind, or gravedom. Since the Bible says: "...there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” This means that the dead cannot do anything and cannot feel anything and thus can not be physically or mentally tortured.

So the next question would be were does this idea of a burning hell where people punished by torture for eternity come from?
Apostasy! The Bible tells us that: "...oppressive wolves will enter in among YOU and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among YOU yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves." So yes, Hell (hellfire) was created by men to control others but it has no place in true Christian teachings.

So, there is a hell but no hellfire.
    And now you know it.
    And so does everyone else...

PS Show me ONE 12 year old who will argue the non-existance of hellfire
[and explain, in detail, why it is not possible] and i will hand you the keys to a bugati veyron.
Actually I know many who do but you know that I can’t show them to you over the internet so I guess you can keep your keys.

PS.. so you have read all my posts.[1100+]. im flattered.
Actually, No! Sorry but I don’t read all your posts just the ones you have directed at me and some of the others that I thought might be relevant. My statement about your wit was based on a statistical analysis of the ones I had read. Figuring the same amount of wit in each of your 1100+ posts it was easy to assume a 12 year old could do better. Sorry, if you’re wittier in the posts I haven’t seen

As for your request; please refer me to text from NT where Jesus speaks of hell...
Here goes, In the King James Version Jesus used the word hell at:
    Matt 11:23; 16:18
    Luke 10:15; 16:23
And if you wish to believe that Jesus after his resurrection spoke in revelation:
    Rev 1:18

How about this, Yes,he was a man. He was a Jewish Mystic, I'm a Christian Mystic. And with enough faith, belief, and power, you, me, anyone could be able to heal a person through prayer and the touch of our hand.

However. Jesus was the son of God, the creator, the most powerful entity. I think a person born from God himself and sent to the earth, would have enough faith to make anything possible.

And marvel comics says superman exists.
Marvel and the bible are but ink on page.. the same thing.
Both. fodder for the human mind to digest.
Do you think that because the flyleaf of the bible says
'this is the word of god'
that any sane [or one with a method of thought]
person would assume it to be true.
    ?
[ this IS the word of god because at the start of story it says it is the word of god...hhahahhhaaaa]

ALL,, written by men.. and they have agendas

    Marvel suspends disbelief to entertain.
The bible/church.. to control those who have no hold on disbelief.

    LOL

If you're going to use an illustration, please at least get your facts straight. One, Marvel Comics has very little to say about Superman’s existence because Superman is a DC creation and two, even DC doesn’t try to convince any one of Superman’s existence because they know he doesn’t exist.

So what’s your point, are you trying to say Bible writers knew God and Jesus didn’t exist? Surely even you know that secular historians of the first century wrote about Jesus thus giving proof that Jesus was not just some fictional person made up by the Bible writers.

Or are you just winging it, hoping that someone will believe you, just because you said it.
