I never watched this show, a lot of people seemed to be crazy for it. I do recall someone saying on a thread that after watching it they thought that making meth was so cool. The show may have been well done, and apparently it certainly made the scene look dark, but I can't help but think that it encouraged a few people to get into meth that otherwise might not have. Tragic consequences.
I bet it caused the amount of Google searches for meth recipes to go up. I hope it didn't get more people to want to try meth. I do know however that budweiser commercials with lots of women flocking around bud drinking guys might have helped push me to switch to bud light from michelobe when I was in high school.

only people who watch television. everyone is influenced by everything. but that's the point; EVERYTHING around them, not just one thing they see on tv, or one video game that they play. its only when the become obsessed with one thing, to the exclusion of all others, that it gains a controlling influence over them. that's why censorship is a bad idea, and what people need to counter act unfortunate influences, is MORE diversity of experience, NOT less of it. war movies, horror and shock, all these things only become alarming, when the come to dominate popular culture. THAT IS a problem. but its not a problem that can or should be pinned to any one example. only the lack of popularity of the diversity of love and peace, and especially of creativity and exploring, that is the part that is troubling.
