Has anyone read any of her memoirs, if so are they good? I'm really interested in the beat generation and was thinking of reading some of her books. Also, I heard that they don't give a true depiction of that time period, is that true?
i haven't, but if you're interested in that kinda stuff, a great memoir is written by joyce johnson. she's kerouac's ex-lover, and tells interesting stuff about her own life as well as kerouac's. i remember it to be an enthralling read. also check out hetty jones, leroy's lady. haven't read anything by her, but i heard it's good.
