Design: intelligent or not?

    Well that won't get you anywhere. Unless you can explain god's existence and god's complexity then your position is irrational.

    It's not a position. I basically wondered why ,IF IN FACT a DEITY EXISTS,and has ultimate ability to create all,including life , it would bother to go thru a process of long,long evolutionary change, as evolution is understood by humans? A game? A test? Nobody there? Ineffable ,of course--but seemed like a reasonable question to me. I'm not a believer. If anything I'm agnostic. (for insurance purposes).

    Sorry, my mistake. The last part of your post made it seem like you were claiming that believing in god and evolution is a rational position.

    It is an interesting question as to why a god would create through the evolutionary process. Evolution by natural selection is the most heartless brutal process imaginable. All complexity and beauty in life arises out of the constant struggle, from death and famine. A god who creates through evolution would have to be at best indifferent towards organisms, at worst a complete sadist.

    I agree.Man,if there is one--we could sure use it now. Or anywhere thoughout history actually.
