And nobody can talk policies or issues. Only inflammation. "oh the current administration is causing inflation" but nobody is offering what they propose to do different or better. "oh, the current administration is pissing away money" dollar one has not been spent yet from the infrastructure bill. These jackasses will get into office, just to get into office and accomplish nothing but chaos (kaos, to the red folks) like emperor orange did.

On the one hand DeSantis could knock Trump out of the race. On the other hand he could win the election! Trump's day is done, he can't win, but DeSantis might. Then, unlike Trump, we'd have a dictator who knows what he's doing. I'm not sure which is worse.

I guess if we had to do a Sophie's choice deal, I'd certainly pick DuhSantis.

I'm guessing Trump doesn't even know what sanctimonious means.

Fascist politics saturate U.S. society. Ultranationalism, the calls for racial purity, voter suppression, hyper-militarism, required loyalty oaths from higher education faculty, rampant censorship, a ubiquitous anti-intellectualism, and a full-fledged attack on social provisions and public goods make clear that democracy is in crisis. Ron DeSantis has made clear in both his statements and policies that fascist politics is alive and well in the United States. Following in the footsteps of Viktor Orbán, the authoritarian leader who has turned Hungary into a fascist country, DeSantis has waged a war on immigrants, targeted gay and transgender youth, purged voters, banned books in Florida schools, limited what teachers can say about racism and other critical elements of American history, and used state power to punish businesses. He has also used policing to punish Black voters who disagree with his policies, courted Christian nationalists, supported a white nationalist agenda and waged a war on higher education. There is little doubt that DeSantis has turned Florida into a laboratory of fascist politics. Politicians and scholars alike, including Robert Reich and the historian Ruth Ben-Ghiat, have labeled DeSantis a fascist, and they are right.

DeSantis is a Case Study in the Threat of Fascism in the U.S.

First there was Trump who formed MAGA, and the MAGA crowd embraced his fascist policies, all the while denying there was anything fascist about it. Now Trump has proven to be incompetent and controversial, not to mention in trouble with the law, and it's clear he can't win re-election. So these same morons turn to DeSantis, an experienced (corrupt) politician in the hopes he can fulfill Trump's agenda.

Joe Biden will be 82 in 2024 and many, including me, question his capacity to run the country until he's 86. And who do the Democrats have who could be elected in his place? Gavin Newsom possibly, other than that the potential candidates don't seem very electable. Let's face it, Ron DeSantis might be our next President.

More than likely, I'm afraid. The Dems aren't going to pull a shining star out of their asses any time soon....Maybe Joe Kennedy II or even Joe Kennedy III. They seem fairly clean.
