True, but between civil rights violations filed by the DOJ, and the fact he's still facing charges of tax fraud, he should spend most of the rest of his life in jail.
I was expecting 25 to 30. The sentence is a bit on the light side but I'll accept it. It's closer to acceptable than egregious.
Bottom line, Derek Chauvin was held accountable. I hope this will do something to stem police violence but I doubt it will make a significant difference. For the most part it tells cops not to be stupid about it, don't let anyone film you, or if there are too many people around, take him into custody before working him over. Basically, don't get caught. I can only encourage people to whip out their phones and record what's going on if you see some atrocity happen. And not just police atrocities
