when did i ever even bring up obama in this discussion.. when did i even insinuate he was to blame?
the ONLY THING obama has to do with this is its all being done in preparation for the democratic convention as the title of the thread states..
as a matter of fact the title of the thread implies the blame lies with the city of "denver".... DUH HUH....

im a bit naive? no you cant comprehend what you read and are quick to jump to conclusions to stroke your own ego,,as usual.

in the future, you should read things twice and think before you type, also you shouldnt be so quick to make assumptions about someones intent in a thread,it makes you look like a fool... ;)

    A lesson for us all.

"All the events will be free to them, funded by Denver Road Home, a branch of the mayor’s office dedicated to ending homelessness in the city. The organization got the money for the convention events from the United Way." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Way_of_America

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/07/democratic-co-1.html

Don't worry though I did not read it properly either:

"CBS4 Denver reports Sly's Salon in Denver is providing free haircuts to the homeless in advance of the Democratic Convention. The effort was organized by Denver Human Services."

    http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/8/19/210/49991

It was all there man, all there. Right in your link.

That's ridiculous, because if "homeless people" are treated the same there as they are here (in a city that is considered by many to be very "socially liberal, progressive, and welcoming". That city being Eugene, Oregon....then I highly doubt that they are even treated with respect by the majority of cops (there's the good and the bad), regardless of another reason they now have to actually "sweep" them out.

This type of shit makes me sick....and always leads me to re-asking the question: Why are some people so superficial, hypocritical, and just down right inconsiderate? I guess there's just no specific answer.....

After the DNC, I am sure a report will be made about the overall treatment by the police of the homeless during the DNC.
So, it is probably best to pass judgement then.

It will not actually matter though, as some have them being swept aside already.
And some will no doubt be asked to move on (for security reasons).

Even though it seems some of the homeless people don't care if they are not there.
Others will be glad to be not there (for peace of mind - Vietnam vets etc).

I'd be interested to see if there is a real and conserted effort to brush them aside.

I'd also be interested if the LA Times, reports on what is said about about the homeless problem, during the DNC (I doubt it).

    I think you're right.

Several other people brought up Obama. I'm not particularly concerned with what you write. Nice speech though.

    Is Denver particularly conservative?

why would they want to hide the homeless unless the city is incredibly conservative about welfare, etc and want to show the democrats that Denver doesn't need handouts? that there isn't a poverty problem, so don't support Obama?

the whole wanting to "impress Obama" doesn't make sense to me... i mean they can't really think that if he's elected he will pick Denver out and give them a nod for having so few homeless people...

um,, NO,,NO ONE else said a word about obama.. in fact there were only 3 other people besides me and odon to reply to this thread up till that point, and unless you consider rats "change we can believe in" to be several other people bringing up obama.. NO ONE DID!!!!
and one things for sure ,there was never ANY reference to obama being to blame or it being his responsibility in this thread..
in fact i even alluded to the fact that this happens in cities all over america, that they even do it for the superbowl..

as always, your comprehension skills are being overridden by your ego ...;)
its OK though,,it makes me laugh every time you stick your foot in your mouth..
was a nice way to wake up...

Instead of haircuts , why dont they get food and clothes and a palce to stay so they wont be on the streets....now that would be something noteworthy....haircuts wont fill their bellies

You were right. Rat was the only one who alluded to Obama. I didn't read the middle of this thread which were three pages of you wanting to have a tiff fit with Odon. That's all you do here.

You're a vitriolic and barely literate conspiracy theorist, and your hostility to myself and Odon is because we're posters who actually point out how stupid the things you say are rather than just laughing at you.

    Back off you stupid child.

I was in Utah when they were hosting the Olympics, security was a big issue around that time, so they had all of these CIA experts come mouths ahead of time and prepare the city and make it “safe”.

There was a park by downtown Salt Lake called Pioneer Park and it has a lot of homeless people and that just wouldn’t go well with the Olympics so the CIA decided that the homeless had to go but it would make a great social experiment to run them out and track them.

So they spent a little time figuring out who they all were then ran them out and tracked them to see where they would end up, collected the data and did social displacement studies on it.

It’s not a conspiracy theory or anything, a lot of it was publicized and a lot of it was not secret.
