So the latest tactic of the right and fellow travelers is try to destroy DEI efforts by saying they are discriminatory. Really! Yet they were silent when all the discrimination was (and is) a fact of life. Now that amends and equity are creeping into society with a lot of help from progressives and courts suddenly its “discrimination”. Examples are the squashing of DEI efforts at the U of Wisconsin by guess who, gerrymandering by guess who, voter suppression by guess who. We are not fooled.

I thought the title was referring to Opus Dei, the Catholic cult that it sorta describes. They also support right wing governments like Franco in Spain. I guess Opus Dei are fellow travellers.

    OK.

Will keep watching the news for reports of discrimination against minorities by criminal faccist retrogrades. Any newsfeeds to suggest?

Some amends are being made indepenent of cohercive practices, tho one might question the speed or rate.

    No disrespect intended.

It's easy to lay blame on the big boys in the suits. And trust me, I am not saying they are blameless in any of it.
But no one seems to be focusing on the fact that the Governing bodies of the Universities are pushing so hard for segregation, because the Students are Demanding it?

EVERYONE: "Are you nuts? No one wants to be segregated! You're an Idiot!"
ME: Students Demanding (yes demanding) Cultural, Racial and Religious "SAFE ZONES" is in fact Self Segregation, and the Governing bodies are folding to give them that because they fear loss of student body income.

So whatever the narrative. Don't put all the blame on Governors or Politicians.

(Keep in mind. If a White person walked into a room and said the exact same thing about having too many people of color in the room, he's most likely be jumped, beaten and possibly even killed outright. *Something to think about()

The news on DEI right wing backlash gets uglier and uglier. The President of Harvard, coincidentally Black and female was forced to resign because of a trumped up house hearing allegedly stemming from anti Semitic omissions by at least three female Ivy League Presidents. What a set up. No support from the Harvard or University of Penn governing bureaucracy….Shame. Red herring plagerism accusations thrown in to boot…Shame. Of course the effort has been championed by a network of ultra rich venture capitalists who all are coincidentally white guys…Shame.

    Have they no shame?

I’m old enough to have seen dozens of instances of overt discrimination and threats against Indians, other minorities, women with no accountability or restraint.. wonder why they don’t feel safe around white dudes?

And in my many years I have been brutally attacked, held at gun point and robbed by Black men. I don't shy away from contact because of that, and I don't hold ALL Black men as criminals. Do you believe, by that statement that ALL Caucsains or (White Dudes) are inherently and irrevocabily discriminatory and a danger to peoples of other races or cultures?

From an outside point of view. And I can't see any other explanation. Students on Campuses are demanding to be segregated. For what reason? I don't know and am not entirely sure I want to dig deeper into it. But calling something a "SAFE SPACE" is just a term to make them feel better about it, it is still Self-Segregation, which totally destroys any of their arguments about wanting equality, diversity and inclusion. They are choosing to exclude themselves from the rest of the university, and will probably carry that over into life outside of university.

Animal farm springs to mind when it comes to that one.
As for students, they seem to feel that they were put on earth to reinvent the wheel. Needless to say, it does not apply when they want to buy a car. :D
