People have hope for a better future. One cannot deny that we all want whats best for the coming years. Eventually things will get to bad and everyone will just say no. Its just a matter of time tell everyone really wakes up, and it will happen because you always wake up from a sleep still living or your dead and it doesn't matter anyways.

Look at all of Europe's debt, the protests, police brutality in many countries, student tuition going sky rocket, a lot of one nations problems are the same as the other across the ocean.

You're quite right, I feel the same about people who believe in politicians in a great deal of the world's countries. I mean... Berlusconi for Christ's sake... How could they believe the opinion polls and the election results for a guy like that?? And the UK just beggars belief, almost but not quite as blatantly staged as the US. It's pathetic the reasons why people vote in the UK, hence how the conservative government got in - because they are "better than the last lot" and the fucking SUN NEWSPAPER (Murdoch owned) told millions of people who were not in the conservative party's interests to vote for the conservatives! And people were saying dumb shit like "I don't want to vote for labour or the conservatives, I would rather vote for the Lib Dems but I think that would be a wasted vote so I'm going to vote for the Conservatives." Like the purpose of voting is to vote for the side that you think is going to win..!

This world drives me fucking crazy!!!

It's a story as old as the military itself. For one thing, the military already has its money through to the end of its fiscal year (which ends Sept 30). If anything was to happen it wouldn't happen until then.

I was in the military for 20 years and every year was the same thing, we're not going to have the money to pay the government. Congress, if need be, will pass emergency legislation and the military will be payed, Oct 1, as they have been payed since the beginning of time.

Even if the military wasn't payed, THERE WOULD NOT BE a military take over of the government. Our military personel are dedicated professionals and they will continue to protect us.

That is not going to happen though. I wish people would stop spreading doom and gloom crap!

How did Bush manage to omit the cost of the war without anybody questioning how much or where is it? Even looking through this thread nobody seems to be raising an eyebrow about that. The war is a large part of the debt, it should have been included, in my eyes that was wrong to withhold that. Oiously more trickery of the republican party..

Of course the war was a big part of the debt-the Republicans never mention it, in spite of the fact that it was extremely costly and totally unnecessary. The Repukeacrats are just really good at PR and BS-they'll characterize the Democrats as a bunch of 'tax and spenders' and themselves as being so 'fiscally conservative' and people just believe it. It's completely ridiculous.

Very good point. This story could well indeed be a distraction to the real damage that this will have on the average American's life.

I fucking LOVE Max Keiser!!! He tells it straight up. Only he can save you now.

If I had it my way, we'd be in the same debt crisis... but instead of a runaway military budget, it would be a runaway NASA budget...

Think about it... all the world's problems solved.... without warfare or guns...

Solar energy is 3 times stronger in space... infinite fields to spread a solar field across, infinite free energy...

Space elevators carrying the electricity back to earth... new weather technologies saving impovrished tribes...

New agricultural feats, new scientific research the world wide... and the final frontier becomes a new cash cow, booming our market.

Instead of spending 2 million dollars on a heat seeking bullshit bomb.

Here's the thing the goverment probably has billions of dollars subsidising research on what bugs are in piles of aardvark poop but want you to believe it's all cancer research. They hand out college grants to kids that won't be able to get a job when they graduate anyway once they graduate. I'm not against higher education you should just have to work for it. It's a privilege not a right.

There main answers to paying for all this crap is cut nasa which is one thing that instils national pride. Send them to mars not the unemployment line. Military cuts and insane tax increases on cigarettes which is just a cleaver way for democrats to tax the low income and poor about 80 dollars a month more while still being able to look like they are looking out for the little guy

Obama and his wife should be out collecting cans or getting themselves newspaper routes to try and fix the situation they got us in. I'd accept almost anything a 2nd job at mcdonalds or delivering pizzas. Instead they have time to be going to basketball games and his wife is going on the Disney channel trying to tell kids how to eat healthy which anybody with an ass that fat has no right to do.

In what way? Other than the health care bill that the Republicans did everything they could to derail, I can't see a heck of a lot of change.

id totally dig watching soldiers' faces when they realize they're going to kill and die for free . i fear this will never ever happen though. soldiers will get each dime of their booty until 5 minutes before doomsday because power grows out of the barrel of a gun and our rulers simply cant afford to risk losing their loyalty, not at this point.

It seems that, as many expected, the "debt crisis" has set the stage for new operations of financial terrorism and corruption:

i worked for them, too. i would only modify your statement to say, "Some parts of DOD get what they want. Others get screwed. The reasons for this is not readily apparent, until one understands politics is not only among the politicians."

i got to negotiate the layoff of 800+ people (contract employees) at one point. if one thinks about this, one will understand what i personally went through going on site to do the deed. the terrible waste in the way DOD is managed should not only be made transparent, but also a reason for imprisonment in a foreign jail...as well as the rest of the government.

note...i do not blame one party. i blame both parties and primarily the voters who continue to vote the same lying sacks of shit in office. this has been going on since the activist woodrow wilson, and gets worse with every iteration. we are getting the government we deserve...and most of us sit and do nothing about it. obama told us what he thinks...'let me explain the difference between professional politicians and the public....' (paraphrased quote). sadly, i have to agree with him.

Good. That's right I said good.

Maybe if we stop paying them, they will legitimately volunteer for the reasons people SHOULD volunteer. Like to protect your country and such. They are fed, clothed, and well kept in between acts of combat. Also, with technology advancing constantly WAY less soldiers are likely to die today than years ago. They don't deserve to be payed in my honest opinion. They deserve to be decorated and praised maybe. But not payed and cushioned. It creates reasons for joining the army that just aren't right.

C'mon its obvious that quite a few service members join because it basically sets them up for life. A paycheck on the way out, free medical care, if you have nowhere to live they give you a pass to crash on the base if you need too...BUT you mmmmight have to go overseas, make a few friends, watch them get killed or mangled and then be expected to grit a smile every time someone pins a medal on your chest or thanks you for your service as if they had any idea as to what you really went through for it. Sounds terrible, but its their fault. They joined, they knew what it entailed, they took the risks. Government shouldn't pay for anything except what fixes the bodily damages that the war caused. Both mental and physical.

My only comment about the graph is it looks like it's a bunch of hooey. but of all people, the military should be paid first!
