This thread is about buying cars and In your experience with the sales people and what they said and did. Begin
Well, as a former salesman, finance manager, sales manager and general manager of large dealerships, I suggest doing your research first. And, instead of just going into the dealership, contact the Internet manager before. It doesn't need to be an unpleasant experience. Just do your homework and be informed and the process will be better for you, and also dealership representatives.
I went to look at a brand new truck but this stupid looking yuppie fuck walked out of the dealership to talk to me outside. He reeked like hell of cheap cologne and just would not leave me alone so in interjected and gave him a piece of my mind..
ANY product or service that requires a 'salesperson' is a fucking ripoff! Good products sell themselves.
never bought a car off a car sales person. as far as i recall. just discovered a hole in my memory i didn't know i had. well it was something i had no reason to remember, but come to think of it, i only remember where i bought the hornet. i know none of them were through dealers though, at least i'm almost positive. the chevy panel might have been though. that was the one when i was in the air force. pretty sure they were all through want adds. last time i bought one we still had newspapers. printed on actual paper.
I just bought a new Jeep Wrangler and a usedJeep Cherokee from different dealers. The salesmen were very helpful and didn’t try to screw me.
i've only bought one vehicle from a salesperson, but as far as i can tell he was straightforward. i'm happy with my purchase.
There's an ad I keep seeing on television that is supposed to eliminate shady car dealers from the process of buying a car. Carvana? yeah...
Had to threaten to call police because salesman would not give back my keys when I turned down his deal. A**hole.
Are you really saying that you saw an ad that says "At Carvana, we don't try to screw you", so now you're telling people "Hey, they don't try to screw you, 'cause that's what they say in their ad"? Unless you've actually bought a car from them or had some sort of dealing with them, you really don't have a basis for knowing. I know someone who tried to sell them a car, and was only offered maybe 10% of the cars actual value. If I had to guess, it's sounds like they try to screw you. Maybe a lot worse than the average dealer would try to screw you too.
I bought my car specifically because the salesman didnt pressure me. And he listened to me and showed me exactly what I was looking for. Versus all the other douchebags I talked to on other lots who did the high pressure sales thing for cars way outside my budget that didnt suit what I was looking for at all I just have to wonder, does high pressure sales actually work on some people? I just immediately shut down when confronted with it
some people really can be pressured into buying a car. what you need to watch is , is the car really what they say it is. take it for a test drive ( to your friends shop) and have it checked out
just needs tires, brakes, muffler, radiator, alternator, power steering pump, maybe needs the AC gone through, and a new plastic Jesus on the dashboard ?
