After the North Hollywood shootout, LE nationwide stepped up their arsenal. That shootout showed that 9mm, .38, .357, or even 12 ga. could not stop someone with full body armor firing over a thousand rounds of 5.56mm and 7.62mm FMJ at you. LAPD shot about 650 rounds of shotgun and pistol fire into these guys before they were killed. Next time you pass a cruiser look inside, you will likely see a couple of them are carrying AR-15s. As far as AKs, I don't think the government would issue that rifle. Even the military does not issue AK-47s, with the exception of SEALs and Special Forces.

 

Yeah, it is a common belief that machine guns and silencers are all illegal, but it's just not the case. They are just really fucking expensive. It is very expensive shooting them as well. Not like Hollywood where a 30rd magazine last minutes. Try seconds. Shooting 1000rds in an afternoon is not difficult to do. An expensive hobby.
