At one point we have had a sump pump but it could be anywhere now...I only know (sorta) how to pump out. I don't know about the pumping air in (or if it can)...I'm going have to go back down there with her understanding she MUST let me just be and do down there...and work with cleaners with bleach, antibacterial spray, and all that. Her sense of time is so skewed, along with things like how she likes to keep the door open from the upstairs to the basement where the door is also open (leaving TOTAL ACCESS for the cats to dash out. lordhavemercy) so she can holler over and over what I'm doing. [IMG] [IMG]

If I could leave the door open for a period of time, I'm sure that would help at least some.

I see this being an ongoing project for a while. yay

Edit to add: I should have stated to start with that the water is down, really...just some puddles and/or damp places left with things that need to be thrown out...its the odor left, and needing to get everything I can thrown away or washed and/or cleaned that needs to be done now.

Aww Lynn. Dealing with mold is the worst. Please please spend a bit of money and buy some commercial-grade breathing masks for when you are down there working.

    It's a long story....

In a nut shell, I'm not getting any younger... Quite the opposite as a matter of fact.

I'll have to wait for your trike to pull down my driveway... Oh, and I don't drink.

Wish they'd change the damn laws about smoke though.

In any case, I've got 1 year to get the house done.

Note "done" does not equal "finished"

I'm finally getting my pre travel torso back. :) it's been hard work but it is getting there, I feel as good as when I left for America. :) not as toned, but slimness definitely.

    Poor Lynn!!!

What you need is some Tea Tree Oil, mixed 1 tsp. per 8 oz. of water in a spray bottle; especially for the things that are staying.

I spray in on mildewed wood, on mildew where the ceiling sometimes gets damp, on leather items that have gotten mildewed; basically anything. It really does eat up the mildew.

I'd help you out if I was closer.

Bleach doesn't kill mold... Vinegar kills mold.

Bleach kills certain molds but allows other mold to flourish

That sounds great! Have you ever washed any mildewy (I KNOW that has to be an adjective :D ) smelling material/clothing in this? There are a few things that I would rather try to save than throw out.

What kind of molds would flourish?

I think I need to be searching for a haz-mat suit. :) I'm only partially kidding.
