Experts on decluttering say that if you don't have an immediate use for it then it should go. They say not to hang on to stuff "just in case".

Of course, it's a matter of priority.

It's not about what you want to get rid of. It's about the kind of life you want to live.

If the extra sinks bring you joy, then keep them.

If they eat at your soul because they are just taking up space and gathering dust, then get rid of them.

The problem with these "experts" is they don't make and repair stuff which takes materials/parts/tools etc... Their joy is to tell other people to get rid of their stuff.

I've seen them say if you haven't used something in 6 months time you need to get rid of it. As soon as you do that... You're gonna need it.

    Marie Kondo doesn't say that.

    She's different.

She says if it brings you joy then keep it.

Friend wants me to go in and get a membership for the Bayern Munich soccer team, get cheap tickets to all games but I'm thinking yeah but then I've an obligation to actually go out and watch a sport I don't like. Sure I'm heaps of fun with my whacky crowd banter.. Dunno if it's worth it.

You should just tell you're friend to pay you to entertain them. They know the soccer is boring. That's why they want you there to entertain them.

Just charge them the price of a game ticket and go entertain them at home for a few hours.

yeah - There's a lot of junk I could (and will!) get rid of. However there is a significant amount of other stuff (such as I have rocks everywhere in the house, at different places) that will remain.

There is a good amount of clothing that I already want and need to get rid of...other items, even though I have NOT worn it in 6 months, will be kept. period.

Even "clean and straight" I know I'm going to have (need) more stuff than some people.

Lots of things bring me joy. lol

Rabbit was getting my wood table and chairs and cabinet so we shifted it all to the small dining room. It doesn't look as nice on carpet as it did wood floor, but then moved the antique couch to the big dining room and it opened up a heap of space for us and rabbit. So that's good I'm glad we did that, and for years I was just collecting bottles of alcohol that I'd empty and I don't that junk, so throwing it all away.

You Brits are some lucky mother fuckers right now.

Pretty much every band I want to see is scheduled for shows in the UK or surrounding area. Looks like I have a chance to save some money until the summer.

That's one thing that always bugged me about the "6 month" thing. People that feel the need to blindly follow that mindset will be tossing out their winter clothes one month before they need them again... But, there will be room in the closet for new stuff.

Maybe these "experts" have investments in clothing companies.

I love that so much! I wish they could have a chapter in SC...but most people down here are too dang big mouthed and don't do anything else but run their mouths. The animal cruelty laws here are probably some of the most lax in the nation...or the judges are just the sorriest. Maybe its a combination.

The dog fighting rings that are found out and busted in upstate SC seem to have a lot more support than those that would see an end put to that.
