Flying has everything I hate: fear of heights, fear of enclosed spaces, hatred of strangers, lack of control. I'd be more comfortable flying an empty plane myself at an altitude of 10 feet. I wish this trip was over.

Flying blows. Any flight over 90 minutes (and that's pushing it) makes me want to jump out of my skin.

Yeah, I'm sure Europe is wonderful and, while I wouldn't mind seeing it, I have no desire to travel there. We need to seriously start investing in teleportation technology.

one pile temped at 145* so we turned it, and we are off to the races. the other pile was cold, so we turned it too, watered it, and will see what it does. and the sunchokes came! so i will need to get a bed prepped and i will put them in the ground as soon as thats done. i could use them as a living fence, but i think i might regret it if i just plant them straight across the whole front yard.

some spots were a little ripe, but not bad. i am guessing its from the grains, they are very moist going in, and that doesnt allow for a lot of oxygen. the second pile was what was old, left from our moldering pile. we had added some stuff, but it wasnt enough to get it going. so we moved the surround, and then moved the pile and gave it a good mixing about. it still has vines from last year's squashes identifyable. hopefully it starts heating up. told hubby we should start a private FB group to track our yard/ activities. we need a name for our property first though. quirky not-quite quarter acre

100 grams a day....a kilo every 10 days..36 kilos a year....if you get a pig you can feed the pig the chicken manure...also feed it to fish if you have room for a trout pond

 

we are only allowed to have 6 hens, so i dont think i will get too buried. in addition, hot composting with it will break it down pretty quickly, and hopefully be a desirable commodity in the neighborhood, especially if i can keep track of the batches of compost and their primary components. if nothing else i can hoist it on my moms yard, and friends before it becomes a real problem, and then maybe we just start looking for another bit of earth to haul it to. theres lots of cheap parched land south of town, and south central mountains. great deals, but no water. so you have to plan for that if you want to buy there.

i just looked it up and 1/4 acre is just over 10000 feet square

the lot im on is 7500 ,,,cant imagine having animals here except for random wild ones hanging around...i need the room for cars and toys

i dont even have enough room for what i have...i pay 2 friends yearly to store some of my crap at their places

i have one of these for storage at one place



the other place is more for camping trailer..car haulers and sometimes i drop extra cars and trucks there before processing them

 

our lot was listed as .24 acre /10454.4 sq ft

approximately 128 x 75 (9600 sq ft) house is 24 x 48 hmmm. maybe i missed some in my measurements somewhere, or they stretched the listing. bet all those bushes on the side yard are technically mine. dang it now im going to need to have a new survey done. i better not be paying taxes on that extra 0.02 acre. but i will remeasure first before i call for a survey. because im cheap.

 

dont have paper survey for here but both neighbours have had surveys because of sales and building permits so i got benefit of free pegs in the right spot

But anyway, it reminds me of the song Mellow Yellow. Some of you may know exactly what I'm saying already. There is a name change, yes, but who writes a song about pop?

I could take you a picture of my pop can right now, and you know what it looks like? It's half-gazing at me and has my cell phone in front of it. I am of the opinion that it's safe to share this information. But anyway, it made me wonder if there's a history of soda pop anywhere and if Safron was a soda.
