They've certainly had a frenzy. But in the end, it turns out it was kinda warranted, don;t you think? Read the fucking posts. I can't be arsed wasting my breath on you a second time just because you're too stupid to understand the opinions that I've already put forward. No, I'm not. In all honesty, I don't think you're capable of following a simple line of reasoning. You have a predetermined interpretation of other people's actions and you refuse to deviate from this agenda in your understanding of anything that they subsequently say. Furthermore, you seem to be willfully obstinate in your unwillingness to understand logical arguments as they're presented to you, apparently preffering to dismiss them as prejudice and political bias. When an opinion is honestly and honourably formed, such an attitude on your part is not only insulting, but it also obstructs any meaningful discussion. Given those facts, debating with you is a waste of time.
Yeah, and look what that did to the country. Yup. I'm sure he'll be back. That's how corrupt our government is. I guess I just can't stand to see bullshit go unchallenged
Ah well still full of Christmas Cheer I raise my glass to Mr Blunkett and wish him a happy new year and a prosperous 2005. I wonder what beautiful chick hes going to end up in bed with next? Wasn't it inspirational to see such an optically challenged individual doing so well with the women... He will be sadly missed. The labour party needs him badly. Such a shame. Dons helmut and flack jacket and calmy walks away whistling......
Oh yeah, and devastated hundreds of mining communities around the country. Of course, the Tories called Scargill paranoid when he predicted that the mining industry was about to be dismantled. At that point, it employed around 200,000 people and in over 150 pits. Today, there are five working pits left in Britain Don't get me wrong - Scargill was a dick. But he was a dick who was right, and quoting his defeat as cause for celebration just makes you look like a fool. Do you bother to follow the news at all? Or do you just live in your own little fantasy world?
IT WAS HIS HORRID METHODS I WAS THINKING ABOUT..AND HIS LIBERAL USE OF THE TERM 'SCAB' AT THE FAMILYS THAT DID NOT AGREE WITH HIM...sorry for being lazy. I do follow the news , this thread highlights how i don't think Mr blunkett is corrupt and this and another thread (were my large quote earlier came from) trys to explain why i don't trust the news and think they mis handle the news for their own benefit... i don't mind if you don't agree ... its just a fundemental diffrence of opinion ? . i am not saying i am completly right... and i hope you don't think you are completly right on this particular point either.
Like I said, Scargill's a dick. Like I also said, citing his defeat (and thereby the defeat of the miners and the destruction of an entire industry) as a positive example of Thatcher's 'achievments' may have been a little.... short sighted? It depends how you define 'right'. I believe I'm 'right' in the sense that the Labour party as a whole, as exemplified by Blunkett, show little regard for the principles of honesty and integrity. I do believe Blunkett abused his position and should therefore have resigned, but perversely I also believe that his resignation (whilst a little late) actually raises his integrity above the average for Labour ministers. For an example of the arrogance and disdain with which this Labour government behaves, you only have to look at Peter Mandelson. Forced to resign twice from government for misconduct, and now rewarded with a position as a European commissioner. Just goes to show how friends of Tony's will always be looked after - at the tax payers' expense.
Kinell Doctor remind me never to have an argument with you LOL You go some when ya gets going dont ya
I'm no fan of Scargill and never have been. The man was a fucking idiot. I firmly believe that if Scargill hadn't been such a fanatic, the miners could've won their fight against the Tory government and potentially cost them the next election. Ho hum. Meaning? Do you believe that politicians should be actively rewarded for failing to live up to the standards expected of those who hold public office? Do you consider it appropriate that after twice resigning for misconduct, Mandelson should've been granted a lucrative position as European commissioner? The moral being "don't slip it in before you're wet"
