i don't get why race should matter, it doesn't when you love someone..

i myself have a thing for black guys :& just can't resist them haha
But i really don't care about race, culture.. things like that.. i find white men attractive just as i find black, asian, mexican men attractive..

there's black guys in iceland? God, these American stereotypes of Europeans get confusing! lol. Did you know that not everyone from Norway has blond hair and is 6'6? lol, just joking, but that is the general american thought process, i just like to poke fun at it.

but french people really do live off of beneits , crossents and cigarettes, that one is true.

I thought icelandic people all lived in houses under the ground. Canadians live in igloos. duh! lol

I had my five year old convinced that EVERYTHING in canada was ice. The whole place was cold and snowed year round. It all started because he got a canadian quarter in his change, i told him i will take him there to spend it one day. I figure i will let him know that i was joking =)

Kids are so easy. Kids and rednecks, rednecks are easy too.

As long as the guy belongs to the "human race" then we are the same race.
    What difference does color make.....NONE

First I would need to decide what race that is,*L* on Dad's side my great great grandmother was a Trail of Tears orphan, and the rest of the clan was Welsh and Mom's family is Dutch.

Seriously, I not only could but have. A beautiful interesting/exciting woman is just that regardless of race.:)

I'm 'biracial' I guess, so my chances of finding someone of my exact combination that I like are slim. Race doesn't matter but I respect that some people are more attracted to pure white people. I understand it to a point, but you really shouldn't limit yourself

So do I, but unfortunately, too many people of my generation and older don't see it that way. . .So I'm caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place. Folks my age and older are too hung up on "differences" and "labels" to let people love whomever they choose, while those folks who have no such hang-ups are young enough to be my children.

When my Southern-born-and-raised parents met and fell in love with each other in 1948, it was ILLEGAL for people of different races to do so. They had to flee to New York to get married.

Even then, my African American mother's home state of Louisiana refused to recognize her marriage to my Native American father -- and actually threatened to prosecute them both for violating its anti-miscegenation law (Which was ultimately struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1967).

The world was THAT different when I was born just over a half-century ago. I could just as well have been born on an alien planet, compared to the world we live in now.

Why do you all act as though the idea of race is a bad thing? Race isnt inherantly bad, but to base things on race is. We are different races, thats the way it is, just like there are different types of bears, there are different types of people. The whole "human race" thing is nausiatingly (spl?) fluffy.

My wife and i are different races, we are both proud of what race we are, but that isnt bad. People are people, yeah, but we do have different races, lets be realisitic.

And about how things have changed in the south, my wife couldnt believe when we went to the court house to get our license, that there were stacks of book files that, before 1980, were catergorized by "white" and "colored"

Its amazing how things have changed.

i think biracial dating is becoming a common thing; i know people here in the US other than the crazy conservatives are being more open to it. I have a thing for asian/malaysian. my last gf was filipino.

Couldn't agree with you more. We are not the same, but we are equal. Big difference. I'm very caucasian, Aryan if you want. Blond hair, blueish eyes etc, born in The Netherlands. My boyfriend is a wonderful mix, he's half Chinese, half indonesian and was born in Surinam. We are totally different, race wise, culture wise.. but it's a perfect match. I'm so curious as to what our kids will look like!

So yeah, there are different races (and mixes of those) and if you close your eyes for that you are fluffy as hell. But again, difference doesn't mean inequality! We all bleed the same color anyway..

We could learn a lot from crayons:
    some
    are sharp, some are pretty,
    some
are dull, some have weird names,
    and
    all are different
    colors;
    but
they all have to learn to live in
    the same box.

I wouldn't have a problem dating anyone because of their ethnicity (I can't stand the term "race" it makes me shudder). I don't understand why anyone would. What is important is their heart.

I think people have preferences for attraction. When single, I think I was prejudiced against freckly men with regards to attraction, but my now hubby is freckly so go figure! At first I did have to think of him as an exotic alient from Star Trek. But he grew on me and I find him more attractive each day :)

I believe that color doesn't really matter. Everyone has different opinions, kinda develops from how you were raised. But, anyways...if you feel like you could one day love that person then why not give it a try?
