I thought Lincoln was shit, lame makeup job and i dont see how that is good acting, just mumbling, walking around with your hands behind your back with a rubber nose

 

I saw his film, ' The last of the Mohicans' many years back and liked it. But I didn't know that Lewis had a record three oscars to his name and is considered among the greatest actors in world cinema.

He was quite selective of his films, and that could be the reason why there was not much films of his unlike the other so-called superstars.

Gangs of New York was a good film.

 

He also had a role in the 1962 film ghandi when he was young. This must have looked great in his resume. You will see him in this clip.

The boxer and my left foot, were two other great acting jobs he did. Last of the Mohicans is another. As Ged mentions Gangs of New York. There are so many he did.

He was great with his character in Gangs of NY. It made the movie for me.

 

He was great in Lincoln, The Crucible, and The Last of the Mohicans, yet for all the accolades he received for his role as Bill Cutting
in the Gangs of New York (directed by Martin Scorsese) I just didn’t care for his performance
