Me, too...and I am learning how to concentrate on what is good in life.....with kind people....and not to think too much of those who are nasty....It does take discipline, and I am glad to join the fight and to keep our voices heard....so many of us. Thank you so much for posting that MeAgain. Even though Dan Rather has been a very respected newsman for decades, I'm certain there will be those that will have all sorts of negative things to say even about this experienced, knowledgeable man...since he is speaking against Heil Trump. I hope that Rather is not made to "shut up", and I most certainly hope nothing suddenly happens to him. Reading those words does give me hope for us, the silenced majority (at last count, it was most certainly the majority...regardless of the electoral college).
I will add another voice to this thread...what Stephen King had to say after the Trump win. This gave me comfort at the time. Thanks for posting that, Spiff. So a man is worth $70 million dollars all because he basically reads off a teleprompter and does as his media bosses tell him. So exactly WHY should people look up to somebody like that? Somebody who is paid large sums of money to promote the news with a particular slant on behalf of his corporate bosses? That isn't a critical thinking person who is free of bias or an agenda. You don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to be critical of the corporate media and question why they promote and give credence to certain things while attacking other things.
Because usually people in positions of influence who espouse a certain viewpoint, especially those in the media, are paid large sums of money to espouse that viewpoint. The corporate media and Hollywood elite clearly do not see eye-to-eye with the majority of Americans, as was clearly seen with this past election. Yet this guy has the nerve to come out and reprimand the people for not voting the way him and his bosses wanted them to. Why should people really give two shits about what some glorified teleprompter reader and intellectual prostitute thinks? Who the fuck is Dan Rather, other than some overpaid news anchor we are made to think should be held in such high esteem. For what?? Because he's on TV??
Nobody said his opinion was more important than yours Rat, just that he's had more experience than you. I value his opinion because of what I know about him, and I value yours in proportion to what I know about you. You seem to be very upset because some of us have values that we stick to. I'm not abandoning my values because Bernie and Hillary lost, I have the same values I had back in 1969 when I refused to cut my hair and when I attended anti war demonstrations, pro education demonstrations, and anti nuke rallies. I will continue to point out the flaws I see in Trump or any other politician, that's the duty of all Americans. I encourage you to do the same.

Probably, what's wrong with that? Although if any of my personal favorites do something contrary to my values I will point it out. For example I had no problem with Anthony Weiner's stance on health care, but I strongly disprove of his sex scandal not so much because I'm a prude but because he was so stupid. Same with Ted Kennedy, I admired the guy and what he did in office, but he screwed up royally at Chappaquiddick. Nothing wrong with promoting my views and casting doubt on contrary views. Remember every time I criticize what I see as flaws I leave myself open to being proven wrong. And that's fine with me.
As I stated earlier, this ^^^^. now if it is a matter of nutrition and diet, I would defer to your opinion (PR) over Dan Rather's because you have exhibited to me via your communications here that you possess knowledge and experience in that area more so than Dan has ever demonstrated to me. it really is that simple, no need for labeling people or hurling politically charged/motivated slurs and insults and making asinine assumptions concerning a persons convictions and beliefs. you remind me of a friend that I just call "The Angry Man" because he is always pissed off about something. .

I always say who cares what an athlete says or actors either. I would put Dan in this category. All I ever saw him do was read off a teleprompter. His opinion means nothing to me.
