Dan Rather is getting crucified for airing false documents, yet no one says anything to bill oReilley for his false accusations?? what about everyone who said that there were WMDs in IRAQ, and that isnt a lie?? people died over that lie, who is dying over a falsified document aired on CBS? You ask any conservative show host why its any different for them to claim there were WMDs in Iraq and that they could find them, they beat around the bush (no pun intended) and ignore the initial question and say that they removed the ultimate WMD and that was saddam hussein. HAHA!! what a crock. They believed their nuclear program was up and running and they had documents that proved that, but where are they? And I do recall that the bush camp pretty much said "oops, I guess our sources were wrong". ANd now yall are asking for a headhunt of Dan Rather? LOL!

The definition of a WMD: "Any weapon that can kill 20 or more people."

Thats really the definition, and about the weapons of mass destruction, there was a stock pile (1000 plus cannisters hidden in ammo) of mustard gas and cyonide found over in iraq. It was on CNN breifly, but they didnt make a big deal about it.

yeah, thats a weapon!! not a person!! can you load a person full of bullets, can you put a nuclear warhead tip on a person, can you get it through your heads?? and ohh, I guess by that definition, George Bush is also a WMD.

Im not sure if I see your point here, elaborate on this for me.
And yeah that would make bush a WMD, technically hussain also was one too. Sometimes you have to do a little bad for great good. Don't twist my words here though, im still against the war on Iraq, but only the PRESENT war on iraq. The initial war was just. Now were just kinda stuck there, cuz ole "dubbya" refuses to pull us forces out.

Nice to know there is some out there who sees beyond all the hype. Whether the documents were fake or not is, to me, a non-issue. All this hype about it is just an attempt to get people focused on that instead of asking the real questions about Bush that have yet to be answered. It's old news, yes, but it's news that keeps getting overlooked or pointed out in the media's as it is a reflection of the man's character, of which he has none. Spoiled little brat who let's daddy bail him out and never accepts responsibility for his own actions.

Just wondering if anyone caugth his "response", if you could call it that, to the question put forth by a reporter that caught him quite by surprise. He was asked about the recent Intelligence report that was saying what a mess Iraq was. He stuttered for awhile then said something totally incoherant...like"... there are good days, worse days, and bad days...."DUH!!!! Nice intelligent response there Mr. President.

You people are nuts. Name me one freaking perfect president! Hell, line up all of Kerry's crap next to Bush's crap and guess what you will see? A BIG PILE OF CRAP. All of you "peace man" and "love one another man" types sure have one thing in common. Hate. All you do is sit back and say you hate Bush. WELL WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO? Not a damn thing.

Kerry made his war history the center piece of his campain. Now that they see this was a mistake, they are grabing at anyhing they think will keep them afloat. Even if it means fake documents. Hell, look how long it took Kerry to finaly come out with some type of plan.

Get over yourselves and quite this bs. Half of you are voting libral cause mommy and daddy were librals. Same goes for the other have holding the bag full of right wing nuts. A few of you actualy have reasons of your own for voting for whoever. BUT ENOUGH WITH MY PENIS IS BIGGER THAN YOURS CRAP!

I like to sit back and clear my mind and look at it like this. I am an employer looking to add one more person to my staff. This person will be in charge of shipping. Two people apply for the job. Each of them brings their resume. Both of them are older adults so I don't really care what they did in high school or college. I put their resumes side by side and look at what they have done(not what they didn't do) and what they say they can bring to the company. In the end I pick the one I think most suitable.

As of right now, Bush is getting my vote.

Now, all of you quit your damn panty twisting and act like you have an educated mind.

Well bandit, then you would have picked the man whose resume shows a string of failed business each one in turn bailed out by daddy and his connections.

That of course is not to mention the to date untreated alcoholism and substance abuse which he practiced faithfully until the age of 40 (showing a devil may care attitude concerning his character and behavior during the bulk of his business career).

Not much credit to your business sense that you simply subscribe to the unquestioning groupthink and makes no effort to ascertain the actual qualifications (or lack thereof) of the person seeking the post.

On top of that your simplistic apologetic for Bush, by extension, also endorses known criminals against our nation (Abrams, Poindexter, Negroponte, et al) from the Iran Contra era as well as the machinations of central Bush admin advisors Perle, Kissinger, etc.

Bravo for caring more about your precious partisan victory than the welfare of our nation.

No he did not name a perfect president, he just showed you that if Bush came to your business to get a job, and if you had hired him instead of Kerry, Bush would have traded Sammy Sosa to the Cubs after calling his Saudi friends from the Carlyle Group, and then burned down your warehouse after drinking a bottle of ripple.

Kerry probably would have done inventory and halfway through decided he wanted it done a different way. (get it? cause everyone calls him a flip flopper?)

I thought this thread had something to do with the Dan Rather apology at one time.

    Yea, oh well.

I think CBS is just scrambling and not fact checking right cause they know they are in the bad ratings, what shows do they have anyway?
Medical Investigator? give me a break.

Anyway, the documents were BS, but the fact is still true, ther were officers and officals that confirmed they got him into the Guard to get out of Vietnam.

CBS made and error that did not get anyone killed. Bush lies about Weapons of Mass Destruction to justify an invasion. Where is the outrage?!

why is the tactic of people always to point out another mistake to justify another mistake?

The topic was about dan rather, and so many democrats in here want to make it about bush.

Rather and cbs willingly lied and they knew the documents were false or unable to be proven legit.

Um, the documents are about Bush, so I feel it nesscary to say even though these documents are wrong and made up by CBS, they have already had live testimony by several officials who say they were contacted to get Bush a spot in the guard instead of going to Vietnam.

Megara, you are one to talk. Your ilk have spent the last three years continuously defending the repeated demonstrations of just that very diversion of the issues and of accountability by the Bush admin.

Let us recall that not one but two administration insiders with long service records both came out with testimony detailing the wanton charade this administration has perpetrated on the nation with its repeated lies and its war on terror and what was the response from your preferred cabal? Character assassination and spin.

Attacking the messengers has been their stock in trade since day one, or have you forgotten that every failure and oversight by this administration has routinely been glossed over with claims that it was all Clinton's fault.

If you are incapable of seeing how glaringly hypocritical you are, and on a regular basis, for jumping on every diversionary bandwagon they and their compliant press corps provides you, I despair at your utter gullibility as I do with that of , seemingly, the majority of the nation.

Anything is ok with you apparently so long as Bush and co arent forced to finally account for THEIR lies.

No, they didn't willingly lie, they didn't check their sources out well enough, they should have checked them out deeper and found out with out a doubt and not jumped on just one source..Dan Rather has people behind him that are supposedta check that stuff out for him also, and in doing so he trusted them to make sure without a doubt the source he was relying on was a credible source..anyway, it happened, enough said we needta move on. In all respects, Bush and Kerry..and there needs to be focus on the important issues enough of this he did/didn't do bullshit.
