Daddy Why Dear Daddy, Why you hardly around? Why you pop in and out? Why don’t you stay at home long? Why do you only give money and think everything is okay? Sometimes I wish you weren’t my dad, and it hurt to think like that. Is it because you never got a lot of love as a child? Shouldn’t it be different? Because you want for us to have what you didn’t? Why do you show love once in a while? Why when I say I love you, you give no response? Didn’t you think? Don’t you have a heart? Why is it so hard to say I love you? We are your family! We are not strangers! We are your daughters and sons! We are you kids!!! Daddy Why?
It's a poem I'm sure that finds reception in a number of people here. When the nuclear family died a lot went with it. We need more wake-up calls. Write on!
This is very haunting. I wish this poem was published simultaneously in all the newspapers in the world. It reminds me of 'The Wall' by Pink Floyd, but this is more serious and since it's not written for commercial purposes, more believable. Bravo.
