Not that I really want to just Ive been thinkin, I just turned 18 I really need to get on the job thing and maybe grow up a lil. Plus Ive been want'n to get my lip pearcing and theres not way I think Imma find a job thats gonna let me have my pearcing and my hair...
Do you really want to work for someone who's going to discriminate because of your hair? Anyone like that must be an asshat... Sounds like you have dreads, I couldn't really tell exactly, but if you love em, don't part with them! I'd say don't cut.. Because I LOOOVE dreads, ahaha.. but.. It's really your choice.
hey theres cool places out there that are fine with dreads.. well I dont know where you live, but around here people(employers) are pretty cool with it. I mean.. What kinda job are you looking for anyhow?
Yes... we've kept Boston contained... would you like to see how things would be if we turned it loose???
Join the Army. if you do, make sure you get a big bonus.... but you'll have to cut your hair for that anyway. but... i remember seeing some girl on here a couple of years ago who had dreads, and then she had her hairs cut down to about mandy moore's length in How To Deal... and oh my, ... oh my is all i can say.
i wouldnt want you to cut your hair you should see whats really out there first, and see if places that you want to work at are really that discriminate on hair styles. there has to be a place you can work at and still keep your hair
I work with a guy with dreadlocks down to his ass, the head of one of the largest electronics company's in europe has hair past his shoulders. Its illegal to discriminate based on hair....at least here it is anyway
so...don't you have some kind of cool organic market/grocery store you can work at.like Whole Foodsthat place is kickin!:H
Don't do it Kelly! For the love of God don't do it! I love your dreads, they're so freakin' unique. Seriously. One-of-a-kind ... Really, just keep the hair, you can find a place that won't bitch about it. I have a job. But really, just cause your 18 does not mean you have to grow up. Gosh, i'm 21 and am FAR from being "grown up". You really gotta stay true to yourself. Don't do, or be, what they want you to be. They being anyone telling you to dress this way, look that way, act like this. Be who you are ... and I think your a dread headed sexy mamma.
don't cut your hair! if a job wont let you have dreads, talk to them about the possibility of putting your hair up and wearing a hat or a bandana. tell them it's a religious thing. there are plenty of employers that will understand and accept that.
