Is it true they no longer teach cursive in American schools? Then how do you sign your signature? People still do that don't they? I must have heard that wrong.
I have heard the same information that cursive is no longer being taught in public schools. Jimbee asks a great question….how do they sign their name? Especially to a legal document?
Also, may be old school but it is so important taking notes in lectures, important phone calls in a business setting etc. I cannot imagine why a decision was taken to remove this from the curriculum.
I don’t believe it is required in the State of Michigan anymore. At least in the public schools. Private and charter schools may still be doing it. When I leave a note for someone at work, or add a message in a greeting card, I have to keep in mind the age of the recipient. If they are 35 or under, write in print. If over 35, it’s cursive. As for how younger people SIGN documents, I’m guessing they just print their name.
