i'm an avid stoner and i love yoga and meditation, and i can't help but think the things can be connected or related somehow. ecstacy, euphoria, permastoned, high, stoned, nirvana, etc. i want to learn how one cultivates a mindset of constant ecstacy. Salvador Dali said his paranoiac practical method was one of constant ecstacy. Yogis seem to cultivate constant zen. pot makes you high. surely these are related, and surely we as humans can cultivate these sensations in our head? i'm reading Timothy Leary... anything similar?
I feel quite euphoric when I allow myself to be one with nature and enjoy things it has to offer, such as marijuana. Hey after all, it's called "high" for a reason, right? ^_^
I don't smoke any more - "If you got the message, you hang up" is a famous quote that covers it pretty well. I do not seek for ecstasy rather than try to keep open to the realm beyond what we call reality, which naturally may include euphoric moments; do it as sober as can be is what my body teaches me. Gratitude is a path that can take you out of a more closed mindset - for being here, including each other in your life, for breathing in and out, and realizing the shere miracle of this world. Just a thought ... thank you for yours.
I don't know if you can cultivate constant ecstasy but if you can, it must start with just being happy in general and a big part of that is your own attitude towards the world.
How to cultivate mindset of ecstacy ? Keep doing yoga and meditation. That's why you already love them. Elevated and aware mind leads to understanding and enjoyment of the moment.
Just a thought, but if you achieved this ecstacy mindset, as you put it..... where would the fulcrum lay? There has to be some down time to enjoy the good.
i don't really see mind altering substances as a pause button for internal dialog. that's what meditation is: pausing the internal dialog without actually falling asleep.
