I'm really looking for some cult manifestos and mission statements to read for a research paper. Does any of you know about this? Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Maj P

called _the fringes of reason_ with quite a few possibly relevant articles, eh?

Check out the Raelians at http://www.rael.org/ . They are the ones who supposedly cloned a human being 2 years or so ago.

Another interesting one would be to google rastafarian documents. Ethiopian World Federation, Nyabingi Order of Theocracy, 12 Tribes of Israel, Bobo Shanti, etc. should all have websites with manifestos, psuedomanifestos, and the like.

Nation of Islam might be another interesting one as well.

hey there sis, ill try give u a few unnamed groups:
do you like racist african americans with an agenda of promoting their leader to the status of jesus reincarnated? well if so you'll LOVE "Yahweh Ben Yahweh", imaginatively named the EXACT same name as their leader. For an even more original name go to their site at www.yahwehbenyahweh.com
or possible you are more into self indulgence as ur premier aim, without any wish to worship somebody beside yourself...in which case i suggest my friends at the church of satan, www.churchofsatan.com .
Then again if you would like to worship Satan in a more personified form why dont you try the church of satans rivals and arch enemies.....THE TEMPLE OF SET!!!! da da da!!!!....lol...basically the Temple of Set's leader broke away from LaVeys church of Satan when LaVey stopped teaching people to worship a man called Satan. This annoyed Aquino (the ToS leader) who duely broke away from LaVey's Church of Satan. for more info go here http://www.xeper.org/pub/xp_main.htm . or if u wanna go into the realm of ridiculous satanism got to www.joyofsatan.com
    Hippy Christians....gotta love em www.thefamily.org
And finally on to the most EVIL cult ever created, i give you Satan personified:
    http://www.vatican.va/phome_en.htm
lol..well i hope that this was a help
    peace and love

I highly recommend reading the book "Seductive Poison" by Debra Layton. It is her first hand account of living under the realms of Jim Jones and the People's Temple. It details the doctrine and premise of the founding church, and finally the horror the people of Jonestown realized as their fate. Good luck with your research.

He doesn't have any other ties to Neil Young that I could find. At the time, Tony Alamo's ministry "cult" was highly respected. In 1972, Herb Ellingswood, an aid to Governor Ronald Reagan came to the Saugus community to present a commendation from the government to Tony and Sue for their work. It wasn't until a few years later that all law suits and bad stuff about him started to come out. Currently he is again in jail. He was recently found guilty of 10 federal counts of taking minors across state lines for sex and sentenced to 175 years.
