crystal ball in my skull shattered

The other night I woke up real early in the morning to the sound of a crystal ball shattering as if it were hit with a hammer not a pleasant or a painful sound. Any ideas?

 

ya , i had several and similar audio experiences a couple weeks ago .
the sounds were very synthetic , like they had been built by a computer .
my mind then placed them in 3d space . most of these experiences were
in the half-dream , half-light mode ... a little dog barking , a car horn , house
door closing , a giant clanking machine up the road , a long extended roar
of thunder to the east .

on close examination i knew the sounds as only simulation of reality .

one , though , happened while i was working , and by the light of day it was both
annoying and too funny . it had been constructed from the sound waves of the farm
implements i was using , located non-sensically within one of them , masquerading as
something alarmingly broken - but really ... essentially musical in a goofy cartoon way .
