Crumbnuts was one of the last gasping attempts to save the cupcake fad. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/10/crumbs-cupcakes-closing-trendy_n_5566808.html Cronuts, a croissant-donut, doesn't sound quite as bad.
I want to make a donut cake. I always say it. Just all these donuts packed into cream. Or something. Mmm.
Egger is a really weird guy. I knew that he would be the person behind this thread before I even saw his name. He seems to have this weird obsession with certain things regarding cupcakes, food trends, etc. Then he always posts an article which is like three years old, which is the case here yet again.
this is at least the second mention of a fictional cupcake fad i've read about on here. i assume the other one must have come from egger too. i pictured crumbnuts as just what it sounds like: the crumbs at the bottom of the peanut jar.
In case anyone missed it, Crumbnuts and Cronuts were real products. Cronuts is a registered trademark and is still around. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-04-14/from-cronuts-to-crumbnuts-cupcake-chain-crumbs-enters-the-grocery Next up: Trumpcakes
