um this was a tip someone who was in the banking business for 30 years told me. youre not suppose to make any other purchases on the card. like open a new one.
The dichotomy of credit is, in order to have a high score you need to owe. If you pay a card debt down every month without accruing interest your score will be lower, not higher. They actually demand that you owe somebody something all the time. To lenders, your dept+interest is their money, being greedy assholes the more in debt you are the better... just as long as you are paying on time. Why are you guys wanting to feed this monster anyways?
