something besides mutations had to have helped the evolution along in my opinion, i say God makes evolution =)
Too many holes in evolutionary theory and you think it is logical to therefor accept Adam and Eve as truth? What about all of the holes in that story? Have you read Genesis? I certainly never got the impression that the events in Genesis ever happened, and there is certainly no scientific basis for asserting that those events did happen. I'll take an incomplete theory over bronze age stories any day.
well, i personally have a hard time with biblical literalism, but i believe in a higher power, a guiding hand and creationary force and a brilliant clockwork machine grinding out healthy, adaptive species year after year.
That sounds a lot like me. I've never understood why one couldn't believe both... just one is obviously more metaphorical than the other. I've never had a problem sitting through a sermon being a biomed major... except when I go with my mom to the hellfire and brimstone church.
my church embraced both. i really loved that church, but all the old guys died and post service tea time was never quite as interesting again.
I'm fine with people who want to believe that God created and possibly maintains the evolutionary process, but when we do work in biology we need to leave God at the door.
