Many years ago I used to work for a production company in making videos. Ranging from short stories to humor bits as well as advertisements. Well, that was many years ago. Now I no longer have the skills to do videos. I used to be able to do a piece on the fly, ad lib. Now, put me in front of a camera and I'm all ummms and ahhhs. I'm wanting to do some videos to put on YouTube. Any advice?
Pre production is key, story boards, scripts, shooting scripts as soon as you know what your doing there will be umm and aaaahs.
What is then? Your original post doesn't really give much information ..... Today's camcorders are pretty much point & shoot, just put them on full auto and make sure you have enough light.
It's more of a mini-documentary, expected to be no more than 10-15 minutes long. The problem is I try to write a story line, which is really hard. So I try to "wing it" by going ad lib, and you know how well that generally DOESN'T work. Tonight I took 2-1/2 hours and 8 maybe 9 different takes and....got no where. Ugh! I'm gonna try to write up an outline and maybe that'll help.
Yeah, something. What sucks is I have no video editing software. I have Windows XP, but not the Movie Maker it's supposed to come with.
You can download free movie makers...i have done it but that was years ago.a quick google search might solve that problem.
use video creator with a handycam or and other camcoder, its for sure that would make the work more and more convenient here
My camera is a Sony CyberShot. Not exactly premium quality. I have a Panasonic AG-155, but no batts and it's VHS. I wish there was a way to convert the VHS over to digital.
Went out yesterday and had a blast. Had about 5-6 failed shoots, ran out of battery power, and ended up rescuing a car load of kids. Oh well. As for the failed shoots, I even have an outline I'm using. I've lost count how many times I've screwed it up.
there is, you just need a video card with a coaxial connection. they used to sell them built in at any computer store but nowadays you have to have it built with one or buy one and install it yourself. i converted many things from vhs to dvd using my computer until my video card got fried. maybe the next time i get a new computer i will go to tiger.com or that egghead site and order one with a good media video card.
