I created this thread for the sole purpose of bitching and complaining about my cramps.

I have the worst fucking cramps right now. The pain is all across my stomach, lower back, and down my legs.

I took two Advil and if they don't kick in soon, I am going to take another two.

I usually keep naproxen on hand for months like this, but I seems I have run out.

    Anyways, that is all.

Yea I usually take ibuprofen but have been taking aleve the past cpl days & it pretty much wiped out my cramps. Are yours always bad? Before I had kids (I have 2)my cramps were unbearable..I mean I should have qualified for disability if I woulda tried because for 3-4 days a month id be laid up-horrible cramps, migraines w nausea...just,bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. So I def understand bitching about cramps. After my first kid they got worse. Id heard it might change but likely for the better...after my second kid (shes 20 months old), relief...at first. Now my cycles (timing) is all screwey and I get the worse adominal pain ever had feels like childbirth mid cycle for a day or two sometimes but my actual periods are lighter and better. Who knows I have a doc appt on that soon because the bad pains are very odd. But anyways, good luck. If guys only truly got what we had to go through...

Naproxen is meh for my cramps by itself. It definitely helps if I have some tea and/or chocolate (caffeine and endorphins help a lot). I find weed helps the most, as it tends to relax my abdominal muscles enough so they don't seize up and try to kill me. If weed isn't an option, I go for more traditional OTC remedies.

I never used to have cramps at all until my mother cursed me with them. She was doubled over with them and I said something like "Thankfully that doesn't happen to me" and she was like "Well, I hope it does so you know what kind of hell I'm in every month." Anyway, after 3 years of never cramping, the very next period I got (and every subsequent period), I got hit with some MASSIVE cramps. I had no idea what was happening and I was in the Bronx Zoo, so I ran as fast as I could to the nearest First Aid facility, where the nurse handed me 2 extra strength Pamprin and a Hershey bar. I thought the Hershey bar was just her being nice to a panicking 14 year old, but she told me about the caffeine and endorphins and how they can help. Then I looked at the back of a box of Midol and sure enough, it was acetaminophen and caffeine (same as Excedrin Migraine). So now, if I'm dealing with cramps or migraines, I usually just reach for naproxen (or ibuprofen or acetaminophen, whichever I have available at the time) and a cup of coffee with a small bite size chocolate.

Some months I don't have any cramps, and some months my cramps are deadly. Yesterday, I had 6 Advil over the course of the day.

My cycle is also kind of wonky right now, for some reason. I've had 35 day cycles for as long as I can remember, however this month, my cycle has only been 28 days.

Annoying. I really enjoy that extra week of not bleeding.

I wonder if the change in my cycle has to do with my not eating meat anymore? I haven't eaten meat in months, though, so I would expect my body would have adjusted by now.

I also didn't hear anything back from my doctor after getting my levels checked for vitamin deficiencies, and with him, no news is good news, and I would have most definitely had a phone call if there were something out of wack in my levels.

For cramps, try to have home remedies like use hot bags, try pain killer like ibuprofen at times, etc. If not you can also try some Ayurvedic ways like making use of hot bags, specific yoga exercises, proper and healthy lifestyle. The best part is to use Fennel seeds can work as effectively as drugs like ibuprofen for painful periods, and an eighth of a teaspoon of ginger powder three times a day can cut menstrual bleeding in half. This way is really effective specially yoga exercises and hot bags, I personally got relief from menstrual cramps by these techniques. LINK REMOVED on how to get menstrual cramp relief.

Oh my fucking god, I want to keel over and scream, my cramps are so bad right now.

I thought exercise would help, so I went to the gym, but it made them worse. I barely made it home.

    Does chocolate REALLY help?

You've got me contemplating dragging my crampy ass to the market to get myself a Hershey bar...

I hope you feel better soon! How many days does it usually last for?

Thank you. The Advil kicked in, so I'm feeling much better. My cramps usually only last 2 days, tops.
