i've been certified 4 times and I'm still valid. i also have lifeguard and AED certifications. only had to do CPR one time and the old bugger lived after i pulled him out of the ocean. its useful stuff and i'm obligated to perform it for my job. that one time i saved that old chinese guy i had just smoked a few huge bong rips in my car. it was way LOL and it sobered me up in an instant, my instinct kicked in and i was pumping his chest, he was coughing and breathing before i knew it.
i was certified briefly about 5 years ago... i'm feeling a bit short of breath... if you don't mind helping...
I'm CPR certified, and food safety certified, I used to be first aid certified, and if I get the job I REALLY want, I will be certified in forklifts.
interestingly, after 4 years of food management, including one year as a general manager, i've never taken such a class. and i know the state has it; i've known a few people who did attend...
It's about to run out. Almost half of my class who got certified couldn't even remember any of it the next day.
unless the person is out saving lives for a living (EMS workers, firefighters, police, medics, Drs, nurses, etc...) i don't trust them enough to know how to perform CPR.
I believe you and everything, but that sounds like it's covered under Ontario's Good Samaritan law. http://www.canlii.org/en/on/laws/stat/so-2001-c-2/latest/so-2001-c-2.html
sure doing something is much better than doing nothing...i'm just saying i don't trust them to actually do it correctly or do any life saving measure correctly. this is just one of many areas of general distrust of humanity that i hold.
