Hey that's a cool tower, I never made it to Blackpool... but travelling thru Jolly Old England was fun. First visited in '69, then had a chance to live there a bit in Kingston-upon-Thames about a decade or so ago.. About four or five months was enough...winter time... but the fish and chips and pub food were great...going into London cost a dear fortune, but I made it to Speaker's Corner and got harangued marvelously. What a wonderful tradition! Wish we had that here in Washington, D.C. I could just see the SWAT teams surrounding some poor bloke who had the nerve to say half the things that get said there in the park... here in the 'land of the free,' speech is becoming terribly restrained. Thankfully Hip Forums is still here allowing free speech of some sorts...
I went to a Little and Large show there in the late 1980's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNys08sBIzs
Come on moot! Post it! Or they will think I was just after the money! I love Blackpool, don't matter how old you are, you still feel like a kid!
You've got more front than Blackpool you have, said Peter Barlow I also remember Morecambe, and the dodgy kiddie's rollercoaster that nearly killed me by centrifugal energy. No seriously... the thing nearly sent me flying I had to hold on for dear life. Anyway, Little and Large that clip 17m in they're using music that was used for House Of Fools (Vic & Bob aka Reeves & Mortimer) I was told very adamantly by an old gay friend of mine that Morecambe and Wise was the template for Vic and Bob's humourous world of surrealism, but watching this clip made me think that there were other things. Oh yeah but ice cream and tarts The day we went to Bangor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8WiPy1xSkw
My Dad was from Morecambe.I went there many times on the coach to stay with my Grandparents on his side.
Hi, just a reminder that whenever you post images on the net now, they should all be https:, not http: as then the pages are not secure. Thanks!
